มีคนไปค้นพบว่าซัมซุงยื่นขอจดทะเบียนเครื่องหมายการค้า SAMSUNG GALAXY GEAR ต่อสำนักงานสิทธิบัตรและเครื่องหมายการค้าของสหรัฐ (USPTO) เมื่อวันที่ 29 กรกฎาคมที่ผ่านมา
