ไมโครซอฟท์เปิดตัว Gears of War: Reloaded เวอร์ชันรีมาสเตอร์ของ Gears of War ภาคแรกที่ขายปี 2006 เพื่อฉลองเกมครบ 20 ปีในปีหน้า 2026

เกม Gears of War ภาค 1 เคยถูกรีมาสเตอร์มาแล้วครั้งหนึ่งในปี 2015 ใช้ชื่อว่า Gears of War: Ultimate Edition ตอนนั้นลงเครื่อง Xbox One และพีซี ความละเอียดภาพสูงสุดที่ 1080@30

รอบนี้ Gears of War: Reloaded ดึงศักยภาพของฮาร์ดแวร์ยุคใหม่ อัดความละเอียดสูงสุดไปที่ 4K@120 ในโหมดมัลติเพลเยอร์ และ 4K@60 ในโหมดเนื้อเรื่อง, รองรับการแสดงผลแบบ HDR และ VRR, ระบบเสียง Dolby Atmos และ Spatial Audio, ตัว asset ในเกมถูกปรับปรุงเป็น 4K

นอกจากการอัพเกรดกราฟิกแล้ว ยังปรับปรุงเรื่องมัลติเพลเยอร์ใหม่ รองรับการเล่นออนไลน์สูงสุด 8 คนในโหมด Versus และ 2 คนในโหมด Co-op ด้วย

Gears of War: Reloaded ประกาศขาย 26 สิงหาคม 2025 ราคา 39.99 ดอลลาร์ โดยลงพีซี, Xbox Series X|S (รวม Game Pass) และ PS5 ซึ่งถือเป็นครั้งแรกที่ซีรีส์ Gears of War ซึ่งเป็นซีรีส์หัวหอกของ Xbox มาขายบนแพลตฟอร์ม PlayStation ด้วย (ไมโครซอฟท์ยังมีเกมภาคใหม่คือ Gears of War: E-Day อยู่ระหว่างการพัฒนา ตอนนี้ยังไม่ประกาศลง PS5 แต่น่าจะไม่แคล้ว)

เกมเมอร์ที่เป็นเจ้าของ Gears of War: Ultimate Edition จะได้อัพเกรดเป็นเวอร์ชัน Reloaded ฟรี เพื่อแสดงคำขอบคุณที่เป็นแฟนค่าย Xbox มายาวนาน

อีกประเด็นที่น่าสนใจคือ ไมโครซอฟท์ระบุว่าเกมเวอร์ชันพีซีจะขายผ่าน 2 ช่องทางคือ Steam และ "Xbox PC" ซึ่งหมายถึงการซื้อเกมผ่านแอพ Xbox บนพีซี แต่ก่อนหน้านี้ไมโครซอฟท์ไม่เคยใช้คำว่า "Xbox PC" มาก่อน ใช้วิธีเขียนตรงๆ ว่า "Windows PC" หรือบ้างก็เรียก "the Xbox App for Windows PC" (ตัวอย่างในประกาศของเกม Doom: The Dark Ages หรือ Oblivion Remasterred) จึงน่าสนใจว่าไมโครซอฟท์เตรียมใช้แบรนด์ Xbox PC ทำตลาดเกมบนพีซี ตามข่าว เครื่องเกมพกพาที่จะใช้แบรนด์ Xbox หรือไม่

Xbox PC น่าจะเป็นบอกในเชิงซื้อผ่าน Xbox app (aka via Microsoft Store) นะ
