เว็บ 9to5Mac อ้างข้อมูลจากรายละเอียดในโค้ดของ iOS 14 พบว่าแอปเปิลมี iPhone รุ่นที่ชูจุดขายราคาถูก โดยจะออกมาสองรุ่นคือ iPhone 9 และ iPhone 9 Plus เพื่อเป็นรุ่นถัดจาก iPhone 8 และ iPhone 8 Plus

ข้อมูลก่อนหน้านี้ระบุว่า iPhone รุ่นดังกล่าว ซึ่งเรียกว่า iPhone SE2 จะมีขนาดหน้าจอ 4.7 นิ้ว ขนาดเดียว ใช้การออกแบบเหมือน iPhone 8 แต่ข้อมูลใหม่นี้บอกว่าจะมี iPhone 9 Plus หน้าจอ 5.5 นิ้ว ออกมาคู่กันด้วย ส่วนถึงเวลาจริงแอปเปิลจะใช้ชื่อใดทำการตลาดก็ต้องรอดูกันอีกที

ส่วนข้อมูลสเป็กนั้นไม่มีอะไรใหม่ iPhone 9 และ iPhone 9 Plus จะใช้ชิป A13 Bionic แบบเดียวกับ iPhone 11 รองรับการทำงาน Touch ID จึงอาจถูกใจคนที่ใช้ iPhone 6 และ iPhone 7 ในการเลือกอัพเกรด
