ซัมซุงยังเดินหน้าผลักดันโครงการ IoT ของตัวเองต่อไป ล่าสุดบริษัทประกาศว่าสมาร์ททีวีรุ่นปี 2016 จะผนวกฟีเจอร์ให้ทำงานกับ SmartThings ฮับสมาร์ทโฮมของซัมซุงมาด้วย ทำให้ทีวีของซัมซุงสามารถควบคุมอุปกรณ์อัจฉริยะต่างๆ ในบ้านได้โดยตรง

ซัมซุงซื้อ SmartThings ในปี 2014 และค่อยๆ เชื่อมต่อเครื่องใช้ไฟฟ้าของตัวเองเข้ากับ SmartThings เช่น ตู้เย็น เครื่องซักผ้า แอร์ ปัจจุบัน SmartThings มีอุปกรณ์กว่า 200 ชนิดที่ใช้งานเชื่อมต่อกันได้ ซึ่งมีอุปกรณ์จากบริษัทอื่นๆ ที่ไม่ใช่ซัมซุงด้วย

อย่างไรก็ตาม การใช้งาน SmartThings บนทีวีของซัมซุง ขึ้นกับว่าประเทศนั้นๆ รองรับ SmartThings ด้วยหรือไม่นะครับ

ไม่รู้ว่าเข้าใจถูกป่าวว่า จะให้ smart tv เป็น controller ของ IoT
มันจะดีหรอ ปกติก็ security ต่ำสุดๆอยู่ละ
แถม TV นานๆๆ(มาก) กว่าจะเปลี่ยน firmware (บางคนแทบไม่สนใจ) แล้วถ้าถึงจุดทีเลิกหยุดพัฒนา firmware (ถ้าเอาตาม smart phone ก็ 1-2 ปี โล๊ะ) แล้วจะให้เปลี่ยน TV ตามหรอ
น่าจะมี device อื่นเป็น controller มากกว่านะ อย่างน้อยใช้ smart phone ยังดีกว่าเยอะเลย หรือใจดี แจก cloud ซะเลย

ผมว่าไอเดียดีอยู่นะในการดัน IoT ให้โต เพราะต่อให้ออกเป็น device แยกต่างหาก ก็ใช่ว่าทุกคนจะซื้อไปใช้ ยัดไปกับทีวีนี่แหละ เดี๋ยวพอตลาดโตขึ้นมากแล้วค่อยว่ากัน

ผมมองว่าเอา controller ไปใส่ไว้ใน smart phone น่าจะดูดีกว่า แล้วมันก็จะกลายเป็น remote ไปในตัว
แต่ทั้งนี้เมื่อ device ต่างๆขาดการเชื่อมต่อก็จะต้องทำงานแบบ standalone mode ได้ทันที และยังสามารถจำคำสั่งที่ตั้งค่าเอาไว้ได้
และกรณีที่เชื่อมต่อ internet ก็จะสามารถเชื่อมต่อกับ controller ซึ่งก็คือ smart phone ที่อยู่จากที่ไหนก็ได้
