Amazon เปิดตัว AWS Device Farm ทดสอบแอพ Android โดยไม่ต้องซื้อฮาร์ดแวร์เอง

การทดสอบแอพบนอุปกรณ์จริงถือเป็นปัญหาสำคัญของนักพัฒนา ยิ่งในสายของ Android ที่มีอุปกรณ์หลากรุ่นมาก การทดสอบอุปกรณ์ให้ครอบคลุมจึงเป็นเรื่องยากมาก

ล่าสุด Amazon Web Services จึงเปิดตัวบริการคลาวด์ตัวใหม่ชื่อ AWS Device Farm ให้นักพัฒนาส่งแอพบน Android หรือ Fire OS ไปรันบนฮาร์ดแวร์ทดสอบที่ Amazon เตรียมไว้ให้ว่ามีบั๊กหรือมีปัญหาเรื่องประสิทธิภาพหรือไม่ แล้วนั่งรอผลการทดสอบที่บ้านได้เลย

AWS Device Farm คิดราคาโดยนับหน่วยเป็น [อุปกรณ์ x นาที] (device minute) อัตราหน่วยละ 0.17 ดอลลาร์ สามารถใช้งานได้ฟรี 250 หน่วยแรก และมีตัวเลือกสำหรับทดสอบแบบไม่จำกัดในราคาเดือนละ 250 ดอลลาร์ต่ออุปกรณ์หนึ่งตัว (บริษัทไม่ได้เปิดเผยรายชื่อว่ามีอุปกรณ์ใดให้ทดสอบบ้าง)

ในงาน Google I/O 2015 ที่ผ่านมา กูเกิลก็เปิดตัวระบบคล้ายๆ กันชื่อ Cloud Test Lab ที่นักพัฒนาสามารถส่งแอพไปรันบนอุปกรณ์ทดสอบของกูเกิลกว่า 20 เครื่องได้อัตโนมัติ - ข่าวเก่า

OS เดียวกันแต่รันแอ๊พบนมือถือคนละยี่ห้อกัน ก็อาจจะทำงานไม่ได้ 100% นะครับ เพราะผมเจอมากับตัวเลย
เดฟ Cordova + AngularJs + Ionic
แอ๊พรันบนเครื่อง Sony 5.0 กับ Oppo 4.4 ได้ปกติ
แต่บางฟังก์ชั่นไม่ทำงานบน Zenphone 5 กับ Samsung
โดยเฉพาะ Zenphone 5 บางฟังก์ชั่นแสดงผลผิดปกติไปเลย

แต่ 250 Dollar ได้แค่มือถือรุ่นเดียวเองนะครับ :(

ก็ดูแพงไปจริงๆแหละครับ แต่ลักษณะเหมือนจ้างงาน Outsource รึเปล่า จบโปรเจคก็สิ้นสุดกันไป
ไม่ต้องเสี่ยงกับค่าเสื่อมสภาพ ค่าบำรุงรักษาต่างๆ

แต่ของ Google ไม่รู้เงื่อนไขยัง อาจจะน่าสนใจกว่าก็ได้ครับ

เพิ่มเติม พอจะนึกออกอีกอย่างคือ มีโปรเจคเยอะ ก็ไม่ต้องซื้อ Hardware Device สำหรับทุกโปรเจค
