Steam Machine เงียบหายจากหน้าข่าวไปนาน วันนี้กลับมาแล้วในงาน E3 ทางฝั่ง Alienware ที่เพิ่งเปิดตัว Alienware Alpha เครื่องเกม Steam Machine รุ่นเริ่มต้นที่จะวางขายภายในปีนี้

Alienware Alpha รุ่นพื้นฐานจะราคาเริ่มต้นที่ 550 เหรียญ จะมาพร้อมกับส่วนติดต่อผู้ใช้ในแบบของ Alienware และได้สเปคเท่านี้ครับ

  • ซีพียู Core i3 รหัส Haswell
  • จีพียู NVIDIA รหัส Maxwell รุ่นปรับแต่ง มีแรมในตัว 2GB
  • ฮาร์ดดิสก์ 500GB แรม 4GB
  • รองรับ Wi-Fi มาตรฐาน AC ดูอัลแบนด์ 1x1
  • มีพอร์ต USB 4 พอร์ต (2.0 และ 3.0 อย่างละ 2 พอร์ต) HDMI ทั้ง In และ Out รองรับ 4K
  • รัน Windows 8.1 รุ่น 64 บิต
  • มาพร้อมกับจอยไร้สาย Xbox 360 สีดำ

สำหรับ Alienware Alpha สามารถปรับแต่งสเปคเพิ่มเติมได้ เช่นเพิ่มซีพียูเป็น Core i5 หรือ i7 เพิ่มแรมเป็น 8GB อัพเกรด Wi-Fi เป็น 2x2 MIMO รวมถึงเปลี่ยนฮาร์ดดิกส์ให้ความละเอียดจุขึ้นเป็น 1TB-2TB

Steam Machine (hardware platform)

All Steam Machines will run SteamOS, an open source Linux-based operating system developed for Linux-compatible Steam games as well as other entertainment. The software side was expected to remain open; for example, the unit is expected to ship with a Linux operating system, but the user will be able to install Microsoft Windows if they want to.

ไม่น่าจะใช้เล่นเกมได้นะครับ เพราะถ้าใช้เล่นเกมได้ มันจะมีปัญหาเรื่องความได้เปรียบเสียเปรียบทันทีครับ

น่าสนใจครับ ถ้าไม่แพงนะ - -" ตอนนี้กำลังคิดหนักว่าจะซื้อคอมพกพาแพงๆ การ์ดจอดีหน่อยไปเลย หรือซื้อธรรมดาๆ แล้วซื้อเดสก์ท็อป/เกมคอนโซลมาเล่นเกมแยกดี

น่าจะเป็นแนวเดียวกับคู่แข่ง Asus R.O.G. small form factor gaming pc หรือเปล่า? คือเป็น desktop PC ขนาดเล็กๆ ที่ไว้เล่นเกมเป็นหลัก (แถมลงwindows ด้วยเหมือนกัน)
