Microsoft Project ออกเวอร์ชันกลุ่มเมฆสำหรับ Office 365

โปรแกรมอีกตัวในชุด Microsoft Office ที่คนไม่ค่อยพูดถึงกันมากนักคือ Microsoft Project (สำหรับบริหารจัดการโครงการ)

สำหรับ Office 2013 ไมโครซอฟท์ออกมาแถลงข้อมูลแล้วว่า Project จะมีหลายองค์ประกอบย่อย ดังนี้

  • Project 2013 ตัวไคลเอนท์รุ่นหลักจะได้อัพเกรดเหมือนกับเพื่อนร่วมรุ่นโปรแกรมอื่นๆ แบ่งย่อยเป็นรุ่น Standard และ Professional
  • Project Server 2013 เซิร์ฟเวอร์สำหรับติดตั้งใช้ในองค์กร ต้องใช้ร่วมกับ SharePoint ที่ขายแยกต่างหาก
  • Project Web App ตัวไคลเอนท์เวอร์ชันเว็บ เช่นเดียวกับตระกูล Office Web Apps ตัวอื่นๆ
  • Project Online เซิร์ฟเวอร์ของ Project บนกลุ่มเมฆของไมโครซอฟท์ อยู่ในชุด Office 365 เช่นเดียวกับพวก Exchange/SharePoint (รายละเอียด)

นอกจากนี้ยังมีแพกเกจผสมประเภทจับคู่ผลิตภัณฑ์ในตระกูล แล้วเช่าใช้งานเป็นรายเดือน ขอไม่ลงรายละเอียดเดี๋ยวจะงงกันหมดนะครับ (ผมว่าแค่นี้มันก็งงพอตัวละ)

ตอนนี้ไมโครซอฟท์เปิดให้ทดสอบแล้ว 3 ส่วนคือ Project Professional 2013, Project Server 2013 และ Project Online รายละเอียดดูที่ Project Blog

นอกจาก Project แล้ว เรายังมีโอกาสสูงที่จะเห็น Visio เวอร์ชันกลุ่มเมฆตามมาด้วยเช่นกันครับ ในภาพรวมแล้วคงชัดเจนว่าทิศทางของ Microsoft Office ในอนาคตเน้นไปที่ "การเช่าใช้" แบบรายเดือนโดยผ่านแบรนด์ Office 365 นั่นเอง

เมื่อคิดเรื่องค่าใช้จ่ายกับความเหนื่อยในการตั้ง project server เองแล้ว.. แม้ตัว service-based จะไม่ฟรี แต่ส่วนตัวคิดว่าไงก้อน่าสอยอยู่ดีง่ะ (note: pwa ก้อใช้ได้แล้ว เปนส่วนนึงของ office 365 และไม่น่าจะมีแยก)

ส่วน visio นี่น่าจะหมายถึงตัว visio service ที่มีใน sharepoint อยู่แล้วมากกว่า ส่วนตัว client นี่น่าจะปล่อยแบบที่เหนอยู่แล้วในตอนนี้กับ office 365 preview นี่ล่ะ ทำ co-authoring + versioning ได้ก้ออุ่นใจได้แต้มพอควรละ.. แม้ใจอยากจะให้มีตัว web app ด้วย แต่สงสัยคงต้องรอลอตต่อๆ ไป เพราะงวดนี้นี่ส่วน sharepoint designer เองก้อยังไม่มีตัว web app เลยเช่นกัน

ปล. ถ้าพูดถึงเฉพาะ pwa .. เท่าที่ลอง คิดว่าไงตอนนี้คงยังต้องพึ่งการใช้ผ่านโปรแกรม project แบบ client เปนหลักอยู่ดี ยิ่ง client ตัว 2013 นี่ปรับไปเยอะมาก ใช้สะดวกกว่า pwa หลายๆๆ เท่าเลย ส่วนตัว pwa น่าจะเอาไว้ใช้แก้ไขไรเลกๆ น้อยๆ มากกว่า แล้วก้อเอาไว้ใช้เชื่อมกับ outlook (calendar+task) เทียบกับ word client vs word web app แล้ว ตัว pwa ถือว่ายังต่างกันมาก
