ไอบีเอ็มปลุกผี Lotus Symphony ทางเลือกใหม่สำหรับคนชอบ ODF

หลังการประกาศความร่วมมือกับทางซันเข้าพัฒนาโอเพนออฟฟิศอย่างเต็มตัว ไอบีเอ็มก็ประกาศเปิดตัวออฟฟิศตัวใหม่ในชื่อว่า Lotus Symphony ที่ใช้แกนกลางจากโอเพนออฟฟิศแล้วใช้ชุด UI จาก Eclipse RCP ที่น่าสนใจที่สุดสำหรับชุดออฟฟิศนี้คือมันแจกฟรีเช่นเดียวกับโอเพนออฟฟิศ ส่วนตัวที่ขายนั้นจะรวมอยู่ใน Lotus Notes อย่างไรก็ตามยังไม่แน่ว่า Lotus Symphony นี้จะเป็นโอเพนซอร์สหรือไม่

เท่าที่ลองดูหน้าจอจะค่อนข้างแปลกๆ ไปสักหน่อยเมื่อชินกับการใช้งานโอเพนออฟฟิศแล้ว แต่ยังไงมีตัวเลือกเพิ่มขึ้นก็น่าจะเป็นเรื่องที่ดี

มีใครสนใจจะรีวิวบ้างมั๊ยครับ...

ไม่รู้มันคืออันเดียวกับ Lotus smart suit หรือเปล่า ถ้าใช่ละก็เป็นฝันที่รอคอยมานานแสนนานละครับ Lotus ไม่ได้ด้อยกว่า ms office เพียงแต่การตลาดอ่อนไปหน่อย คราวนี้ก็จะเกิดการดวลกันเองระหว่าง Symphony กับ OpenOffice แต่อยากให้มันรวมกันแล้วทำให้ชีวิตดีขึ้นมากกว่า

ดูจาก minimum spec แล้วไม่กล้าโหลดมาใช้เลย RAM 1 GB!!! โอ้แม่เจ้า แถมรู้สึกจะมีปัญหากับไฟล์ Office ขง MS ด้วยมั้ง (อ่านผ่านๆ) เลยไม่อยากโหลดมาลองเท่าไหร่ ตั้ง 900 MB แน่ะ

มันบอกพื้นที่หลังติดตั้งนะ แต่... กินแรมเยอะไป แถมใช้กับ me ไม่ได้อีก ที่บริษัทใช้ xp และ me อย่างละครึ่ง แรมมีแค่ 128-512 เมกเอง เซงเลย

ส่วนตัวคิดว่าไม่น่าจะใช่ Lotus SmartSuite ครับ ตัวนี้จะเป็นตัวเดียวกับที่อยู่ใน Lotus Notes 8 เพียงแต่จะใช้ชื่อต่างกัน คาดว่าน่าจะเป็นเรื่องของการตลาดครับ

ส่วนเรื่องที่ minimun spec ค่อนข้างจะโหดร้ายไปสักหน่อย เนื่องจากพัฒนาอยู่พื้นฐานของ Eclipse อันนี้ต้องทำใจหน่อย

Lotus Symphony ไม่สามารถนำมาใช้แทน Outlook ได้นะครับ เพราะตัวมันเป็น Productivity tools ไม่ใช่ personal information manager/email client ครับ ถ้าไม่อยากใช้ Outlook ลองใช้ Lotus Notes สิครับ :P

ในเว็บเค้าเขียนไว้ชัดว่าเป็นตัวเดียวกับ productivity suite ใน Notes ครับ เปลี่ยนชื่อด้วยเหตุผลด้านการตลาดเฉยๆ

แต่ตอนนี้ผมกำลังทนทรมาณอยู่กับ Lotus Notes T__T

อยากกลับไปใช้ Outlook จัง (แต่ก็ใช้ Thunderbird รับ POP3 ด้วยน่ะ)

ถ้ิามีคนทำ Thunderbird ต่อกับ Domino ได้นะ จะเอา Notes ออกเลย ถึงแม้อาจจะถูก SI เชิญตัวไปสอบปากคำก็ตาม ฮ่าๆๆ
