ไมโครซอฟท์เตือนผู้ดูแลระบบเกี่ยวกับปัญหาจากการลงแพตช์ความปลอดภัยของ Windows 11 เวอร์ชัน 24H2 ที่ทำให้ระบบปฏิบัติการไม่สามารถลงแพตช์ความปลอดภัยที่ออกมาในอนาคตได้ แต่ปัญหานี้เกิดขึ้นในกรณีเจาะจงเท่านั้น

ปัญหาจะเกิดขึ้นหากผู้ดูแลระบบลงชุดแพตช์ความปลอดภัยด้วยซีดีหรือไดรฟ์ยูเอสบี และต้องเป็นช่วงของแพตช์ความปลอดภัยที่ออกมาวันที่ 8 ตุลาคม ถึง 12 พฤศจิกายน เท่านั้น โดยบั๊กนี้ได้ถูกแก้ไขไปแล้วในแพตช์เดือนธันวาคม

บั๊กนี้ไม่มีผลกระทบหากผู้ใช้งานลงแพตช์ผ่านช่องทาง Windows Update หรือเว็บ Microsoft Update Catalog และหากลงแพตช์เดือนธันวาคมสำเร็จแล้วก็จะไม่มีผลเช่นกัน

ไมโครซอฟท์บอกว่ากำลังหาทางแก้ไขปัญหานี้ แต่เบื้องต้นแนะนำให้ใช้ซีดีหรือไดรฟ์ยูเอสบีสำหรับลงแพตช์เดือนธันวาคมที่ออกมาเมื่อวันที่ 10 ธันวาคม กับคอมพิวเตอร์กลุ่มนี้ไปก่อน

ปัญหาจะเกิดขึ้นหากผู้ดูแลระบบลงแพตช์ความปลอดภัยด้วยซีดีหรือไดรฟ์ยูเอสบี และต้องเป็นแพตช์ความปลอดภัยที่ออกมาช่วงวันที่ 8 ตุลาคม ถึง 12 พฤศจิกายน เท่านั้น โดยบั๊กนี้ได้ถูกแก้ไขไปแล้วในแพตช์เดือนธันวาคม

ปัญหานี้ไม่ใช่เกิดจากการลง update (Cumulative Update) จาก USB/Thumbdrive ครับ ติดต้้งจาก source ไหนไม่มีผล

bug นี้ เป็น bug ของ ISO/media ของ Windows 11 v24H2 ที่ pre-installed ตัว update ของเดือน Oct และ Nov 2024.

ถ้ามีการ install ตัว Windows 11 v24H2 จาก ISO/media มีการ pre-installed update (slipstream) ตัวที่ว่า เครื่องที่ติดตั้ง Win 11 นั้นจะไม่สามารถ install update ของเดือนถัดๆ ไปได้

แต่ถ้าลง 24H2 จาก ISO/media ที่ไม่ได้ pre-install update ที่ว่า แต่มา install update ที่ว่าทีหลัง หลังจากลง Windows แล้ว จะไม่เจอปัญหานี้

วิธีการ check คือ ดูว่าหลังติดตั้ง Windows เสร็จให้เช็ค build version ของ Windows (ดูใน Settings app หรือ winver หรือใน Command Prompt ) ว่าอยู่ในช่วงนี้ 26100.2033 - 26100.2314 หรือไม่ (หรือจะเปิด check จาก install.wim ก็ได้)

ถ้าใช่ ก็คือ อาจจะต้อง re-install Windows ใหม่ ด้วย media ที่มี Dec 2024 update แทน

คือ แพตช์ความปลอดภัย ใน บทความนี้ , ควรเรียกว่า ชุดติดตั้งแพตช์ความปลอดภัย ?

ใน package มี แพตช์ความปลอดภัย เป็น payload นึง , แต่บาง package อาจมี payload ที่อัพเดท driver(?) พ่วงมาด้วย ? .. reinstall คือเซฟกว่า เพราะไม่น่ามีอะไรหาย , ถ้า rollback จะมีช่วงระหว่าง gap ที่หายไป ?
