Google แสดงข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลจากบัญชี Twitter

หนังสือพิมพ์ Los Angeles Times เผยว่าผู้ที่สนใจจะดูข้อมูลบัญชี Twitter ที่ไม่เป็นสาธารณะสามารถใช้ Google ค้นหาข้อมูลโดยใช้วลี "site:twitter.com/ชื่อบัญชี" ในช่อง Search แล้ว Google ก็จะแสดงข้อมูลบัญชีนั้นๆ ในบางส่วน โดยเฉพาะคำต้นๆ ของประโยคที่เจ้าของบัญชีได้เลือกที่จะทำให้เป็นส่วนบุคคล (ไม่สาธารณะ)

ตัวอย่างเช่น การค้นหาบัญชี Twitter ของ Bill Clinton ใน Google จะแสดงผลให้เห็นว่าอดีตประธานาธิบดีสหรัฐอเมริกาได้เคยพบปัญหาการเชื่อมต่ออินเทอร์เน็ต (ประโยคไม่เต็มแปลจาก "My internet died! I guess ...") หรือ "รู้สึกหดหู่มากเกินที่จะ..." (ประโยคไม่เต็มแปลจาก "I have been too depressed ...")

การเข้าถึงข้อมูลดังกล่าวตั้งโจทก์เกี่ยวกับการคุ้มครองข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลในบัญชี Twitter หรือของเว็บไซต์อื่นๆ ที่เจ้าของเลือกที่จะปกป้องแต่ก็ยังโดนเว็บไซต์ค้นหาเข้าถึงและทำดัชนีข้อมูลไว้

อย่างไรก็ดี ข้อมูลที่โดนเปิดเผยดังกล่าวเป็นข้อมูลที่เคยเป็นสาธารณะมาก่อนและเจ้าของได้เลือกที่จะไม่เปิดเผยในภายหลัง และที่ผ่านมา Twitter ได้แก้ไขข้อบกพร่องคล้ายๆ กันมาแล้วสองครั้ง ครั้งแรกเกี่ยวกับตัวค้นหาข้อมูลในเว็บไซต์ Twitter เอง และครั้งที่สองเกี่ยวกับการแสดงข้อมูล RSS ซึ่งในทั้งสองกรณีนี้ ได้มีแสดงข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลก่อนที่จะได้รับการแก้ไข

  • ถ้าเคยเป็น public แล้วเป็น private ผมเห็นว่าควรเก็บไว้ครับเพราะตอนที่ทวีตนั้นคนส่งทราบดีว่ามีคนอ่าน
  • แต่ถ้าลบก็ควรลบจากแคชด้วย
  • แต่ที่ดีที่สุดคือถ้าทำ private ก็อย่าใช้ twitter เลย

เรามีสิทธิ ในการตั้งการเป็นส่วนตัวครับ การตั้ง private profile ไม่ช่อาชญากรรมถ้าใครคิดว่า ไม่ควรตั้ง private Profile ก็ อย่า ไป follow ซิ ครับ แต่เราจะมาเที่ยวตัดสิน วิธีใช้งานของคนอื่นนี่มันไม่ถูกครับ เราจะทำยังไงกับ accout เราก็ได้ คุณจะทำยังไงกับ accout คุณมันก็สิทธิ์ ของคุณครับ

แสดงว่าท่านกำลังใช้ Twitter เป็น IM

และแสดงว่าท่านไม่รู้จักใช้ Direct Message

(ส่วนประเด็นว่าถ้าคุยเป็นกลุ่ม อันนี้คงไม่ใช่จุดมุ่งหมายของ Twitter อยู่แล้ว ซึ่งผมไม่แน่ใจว่า Social ตัวไหนตอบโจทย์นี้ได้ แต่มี status.net กำลังจะมาครับ(เป็น identi.ca ที่เราสามารถเช่าเปิดเองได้โดยโฮสต์กับเขา หรือไปเปิดเองโดยใช้ software StatusNet) และ Google Wave)

Account ผมเองเคยพิจารณาทำ Private หลายครั้ง แต่ไม่ทำ เพราะว่าถ้า Tweet ไหนผมไม่กล้าให้คนอ่าน ก็อย่าทวีตเสียดีกว่า

อีกประเด็นหนึ่ง (ซึ่งควรจะเพราะ Bug ของ Twitter) คือทำให้เลือก Follow ไม่ถูกครับ Twitter ต้องการให้สองฝ่าย follow กันถึงจะเห็น แต่ถ้าเขา Follow เราข้างเดียวผมก็ไม่กดกลับครับเพราะดูไม่ได้ว่าน่าสนใจหรือไม่ (จริงๆ ก็เหมือนเจ้าของ account อนุญาตแล้ว ทำไมยัง block อีก)

ถ้าอยากรับรู้ tweet เป็นกลุ่มย่อยกันเอง ก็ให้ทุกคนในกลุ่มเป็น private แล้ว follow กันเองทุกคู่ ก็ได้นะครับ (ส่วนเรื่องที่การที่ tweet รั่วออกไปนอกกลุ่ม ไม่ว่าจะจากการ RT หรืออื่นๆเป็นอีกประเด็น) ผมไม่คิดว่าการใช้งานในลักษณะนี้ผิดแปลก หรือ "ไม่ใช่จุดมุ่งหมายของ Twitter อยู่แล้ว" นะครับ

เกินไปมั้งครับที่ว่าใช้ private ก็ไม่ควรเล่น twitter

บางคนมีความจำเป็นที่จะปกปิดข้อมูล
บางคนไม่ชอบให้ใครก็ไม่รู้มาตามเราไปตลอด (เหมือน stalker เนอะ)
หรือบางครั้งผมอยากให้คนที่สนใจผมรับรู้ข้อมูลที่ผมต้องการจะบอก แต่ไม่ได้แปลว่า ผมต้องการจะบอกคนทุกคน

ลองเปลี่ยน twitter เป็นคำว่า blog ดูครับ อาจจะเห็นสิ่งที่คุณมองข้ามไป

ผมไม่ได้มองว่าถ้า private ควรใช้หรือไม่ควร

แต่มองว่า ถ้า twitter ทำ function private ให้มัน "private" ไม่ได้ ก็อย่าไปทำมันเลย

คนมาใช้จะได้รู้ว่าไม่มี private ใน twitter

ผมว่าผู้ใช้ควรจะรู้ว่าตัวเองจะใช้แบบไหน
และมันก็ขึ้นอยู่กับแทคติกการใช้ของผู้ใช้ ถ้าหากเข้าใจวิธีงานใช้งานและประยุกต์ใช้ได้เหมาะกัน
ก็ใช้เป็น
