Google Play Services หยุดซัพพอร์ต Android 4.4 KitKat หลังเวลาผ่านมา 10 ปี

กูเกิลประกาศหยุดรองรับ Android 4.4 KitKat บน Google Play Services ทำให้มือถือและอุปกรณ์รุ่นเก่ามากๆ เหล่านี้จะไม่สามารถรันแอพที่ต้องพึ่งพา Google Play Services เวอร์ชันใหม่ๆ ได้อีกต่อไป

ณ ตอนนี้ แอพเดิมจะยังทำงานได้ต่อไปตามปกติ แต่ไม่มีอะไรการันตีว่า หากแอพเหล่านี้มีอัพเดตในอนาคต และต้องการ Google Play Services ใหม่กว่า 23.30.99 แล้วจะทำงานได้เหมือนเดิม

เหตุผลของกูเกิลคือ KitKat ออกมาได้นาน 10 ปีพอดี และมีสัดส่วนการใช้งานไม่ถึง 1% ของอุปกรณ์ทั้งหมดแล้ว

นโยบายของกูเกิลคือ Google Play Services มีระยะการซัพพอร์ตที่ยาวนานกว่าตัวระบบปฏิบัติการ Android ด้วยซ้ำ อย่างกรณีนี้คือซัพพอร์ต KitKat นานถึง 10 ปี แม้ตัวระบบปฏิบัติการเลิกซัพพอร์ตไปนานแล้ว (นโยบายของกูเกิลตอนนี้คือซัพพอร์ต Android นานประมาณ 3 ปี)

Android 4.4 KitKat ผมยังเห็นไปรษณียไทย
ยังใช้อยู่เลยนะครับเครื่องที่พนักส่งของใช้นะ
เพื่อนผมทำงานอยู่ในนั้นมันเอากลับห้องมาเล่น
ผมเลยรองเล่น ลื่นนะครับเล่น Rov ได้พอๆกับเครื่อง 3-4 พันเลย
เครื่องพวกนี้ไปรษณียไทยเอามาคัสตอมเองใช้มั้ยครับ

เครื่องสำหรับงาน Enterprise ครับ ราคาสูงกว่าเครื่องปรกติพอสมควร แต่ก็แลกมาด้วยความสมบุกสมบันกันน้ำกันฝุ่นได้ดีกว่าเครื่องทั่วไป ส่วนการที่เป็น Android 4.4 ในงานราชการเขาไม่ค่อย update อะไรอยู่แล้ว จะลงก็ลงผ่านสายเอา เครื่องหลวงอย่าไปยุ่ง หรือลงโปรแกรมอะไรเพิ่มเลย เดี๋ยวรวนขึ้นมา support ปวดหัวหา code มา build เพื่อลงใหม่ให้อีกโครงการนี้ยิ่งปัญหาเดิมก็เยอะอยู่แล้ว
