Google เปิดตัว Google Play Games บน Windows และเตรียมเปิดให้บริการปี 2022 ทำให้เกมบน Android บน Google Play สามารถมารันบน Windows ได้

Google บอกว่าพัฒนาแอปนี้ขึ้นมาด้วยตัวเองโดยไม่ได้พาร์ทเนอร์กับใคร และเป็นการรันเกมบน Windows แบบเนทีฟ ไม่ใช่การเปิดรันผ่านคลาวด์ ซึ่ง Google ก็ยังไม่ได้เปิดเผยว่าเบื้องหลังจำลอง Android มารันบน Windows อย่างไร ขณะที่ประสบการณ์เล่นเกมระหว่างอุปกรณ์ไม่ว่าสมาร์ทโฟน แท็บเล็ตหรือพีซีจะเป็นแบบ seamless สลับไปสลับมาได้ต่อเนื่อง

ก่อนหน้านี้ Microsoft ก็เปิดเผย Windows Subsystem for Android สำหรับรันแอปแบบเนทีฟ โดยจับมือกับ Amazon นำแอป Android จาก Amazon AppStore มารัน
