ไมโครซอฟท์อธิบายการตั้งชื่อ Xbox Series X ว่าชื่อคอนโซลจริงๆ มีแค่ Xbox คำเดียว

ตัวแทนของไมโครซอฟท์ให้ข้อมูลกับเว็บไซต์ Business Insider ว่าชื่อคอนโซลรุ่นใหม่ Xbox Series X ที่เพิ่งเปิดตัว ชื่อของมันจริงๆ คือ Xbox เท่านั้น ไม่มีสร้อยอื่นใดต่อท้าย

ไมโครซอฟท์ระบุว่าสิ่งที่ไมโครซอฟท์ส่งต่อจากยุค Xbox One มาสู่ยุคใหม่มีเพียงแบรนด์ "Xbox" เท่านั้น ส่วนคำว่า "Series X" เป็นคำขยาย ซึ่งไมโครซอฟท์ยอมรับว่าการตั้งชื่อแบบนี้ เปิดโอกาสให้มีคอนโซลซีรีส์อื่นๆ ตามมาในอนาคต (อย่างที่เราคาดกันว่าจะมี Xbox Series S รุ่นราคาถูก โค้ดเนม Lockhart)

หากสังเกตจากภาพเปิดตัวของไมโครซอฟท์ จะเห็นว่าไมโครซอฟท์เขียน Xbox โดดๆ ไม่ปนกับคำอื่นๆ (ต่างจากยุค Xbox One ที่คำว่า "Xbox One" คือคำเดียวกัน ต้องเขียนติดกัน) และใช้ Series X เป็นตัวห้อยอยู่คนละบรรทัดกันแทน

มันมาจาก Xbox = null แล้วก็ Xbox 360 = 0 แล้วตามด้วย Xbox One = 1
จริง ๆ มันควรจะต่อด้วย Xbox Default II (มุกจากเกม Bravely Default => Bravely Second => Bravely Default II)

แต่ถ้าประสบการณ์ที่ผ่านมาของผมควรจะตั้งชื่อเป็น Microsoft Xbox 2020 Professional Edition แบบนี้จะคุ้นเคยกันมากกว่าครับ

ทำไมต้องตั้งชื่อให้งง ถ้าไม่หาข้อมูลคงเรียงไม่ถูกแน่ว่ารุ่นไหนมาก่อนมาหลัง
ชอบแบบ PS เข้าใจง่ายดี PS1-PS5 รุ่นแรงกว่าก็มี Pro ต่อท้ายจบ

ไม่งงนะครับ เพราะไม่ได้ใช้ชื่อเดียวกันเลย NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, Switch
แต่ Xbox นี่ใช้ชื่อ Xbox ทุกอัน แล้วแต่ละรุ่นนี่งงมาก Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One
โดยเฉพาะ Xbox One นี่งงหนักเลยว่ามายังไง Xbox รุ่นที่สามแต่ใช่ชื่อว่าหนึ่ง แถมมีรุ่นพิเศษ Xbox One X แล้วรุ่นหน้าใช้ Xbox Series X เอ้า งงเข้าไปอีก ตัวไหนเป็นตัวไหน
