AWS ประกาศเปิด region ใหม่ในฮ่องกง

AWS ประกาศเปิด Region ใหม่บนเกาะฮ่องกง นับเป็น AWS Region ที่ 8 ในเอเชียแปซิฟิก โดยฮ่องกงจะมีทั้งหมด 3 Availability Zone

การเปิด Region ในฮ่องกงครั้งนี้จะชนกับ Alibaba Cloud และ Tencent Cloud ที่มีส่วนแบ่งในพื้นที่ค่อนข้างเยอะ โดย Werner Vogels ซีทีโอของ Amazon ระบุว่าการเปิด Region ในฮ่องกง จะช่วยลดความหน่วงที่ลูกค้าจะต้องเชื่อมต่อไปยังโตเกียวหรือสิงคโปร์ จาก 100ms เหลือเพียง 10ms ขณะที่ลูกค้า AWS รายใหญ่ๆ ในฮ่องกงก็ค่อนข้างเยอะด้วยเช่นกัน

ไทยรอ google ลากสายเคเบิ้ลโหดๆมา + ลากเองหาเพื่อนบ้านโหดๆก่อน?

แต่เรื่องสายเคเบิ้ล ดูเหมือน เวียดนาม ชัยภูมิจะดีกว่าไทย
ไทยต้องลากเข้าอ่าวไทย แต่เวียดนามไม่ต้อง

ในด้าน internet infrastructure, geographical advantage, political stability, etc. เรามีด้านไหนเหนือกว่า SG ไหมครับ เพราะถ้าไม่ ก็ไปลง SG ดีกว่า เป็นศูนย์กลางเครือข่ายภูมิภาค SEA ที่ต่อไปหลายประเทศมากอยู่แล้ว เครือข่ายคุณภาพ มาตฐาน การเมืองมั่นคง กฏหมายบังคับใช้ชัดเจน คอรัปชั่นไม่มากเกินรับได้ ฯลฯ

และนั่นคือสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นมาตลอด 10 ปีนี้ มองในมุมผู้ประกอบการ ถ้ากลุ่มเป้าหมายลูกค้าของบ.คุณคือคนในภูมิภาค SEA ละก็(ไม่เจาะจงประเทศใดประเทศเดียว) ไปลงที่ SG ยังไงก็คุ้มกว่า

เอะ ไทยก็ไม่ใช่ว่าจะไม่มีน่ะ ปีก่อนก็มี SUPERNAP
