PerfectWorld เปิดตัวทัวร์นาเมนต์ Dota 2 Asia Championship 2017 พร้อมทีมเชิญ 4 ทีมดัง

หลังจากห่างหายไปนานสองปี PerfectWorld ผู้ให้บริการ Dota 2 ในประเทศจีน ประกาศการกลับมาของทัวร์นาเมนต์ Dota 2 Asia Championship 2017 จัดขึ้นในวันที่ 28 มีนาคม - 4 เมษายน 2017 ที่เซี่ยงไฮ้ ประเทศจีน งานนี้จะจัดก่อนหน้างานแข่งใหญ่ Kiev Major เพียง 2 สัปดาห์เท่านั้น

ขณะนี้มีการประกาศรายชื่อทีมเชิญทั้ง 4 ทีมออกมาแล้ว ถือเป็นทีมยักษ์ใหญ่ของวงการทั้งสิ้น ประกอบด้วย

  • Evil Geniuses แชมป์เก่า Dota 2 Asia Championship 2015
  • Wings Gaming แชมป์รายการ The International 2016
  • OG แชมป์รายการ Boston Major
  • Newbee ที่กำลังฟอร์มร้อนแรง คว้ารางวัลรองชนะเลิศ ESL One Genting 2017 มาสดๆ ร้อนๆ

สำหรับอีก 8 ทีมที่เหลือจะมาจากการแข่งขันรอบคัดเลือกระดับภูมิภาค มีทีมจากโซนอเมริกา ยุโรป SEA และ CIS (กลุ่มประเทศที่ประกาศเอกราชจากสหภาพโซเวียต) อย่างละ 1 ทีม และทีมจากรอบคัดเลือกในประเทศจีน อีก 4 ทีม

สำหรับเงินรางวัลและรูปแบบการแข่งขันนั้น ยังไม่มีการเปิดเผยรายละเอียด

3 ทีมแรกนี่พอเข้าใจว่าทำไมถึงถูกเชิญ แต่ Newbee สงสัยจะถูกเชิญเพราะโค้วต้าทีมจีน ผลงานรายการใหญ่ ๆ ล่าสุดห่วยกว่า DC อีก ทั้ง TI6 กับ Boston Major แถมรายการ ESL One Genting 2017 ที่เพิ่งผ่านไปก็แพ้ DC ในรอบชิงอีกต่างหากแต่ดันไปเชิญ Newbee แทน DC

ผลงาน 4 เดือนหลังสุดของ Newbee นับแค่ Tourmament ระดับสูงสุดอย่างเดียว

  • อันดับ 9-12 ใน TI6
  • ตกรอบแรก Boston Major
  • อันดับ 2 ใน MarsTV
  • อันดับ 2 ใน ESL Genting

ส่วน DC

  • อันดับ 2 TI6
  • อันดับ 3-4 ใน Boston Major
  • แชมป์ ESL Genting

Newbee เพิ่งจะมาเล่นดีแค่ที่แข่งในทัวร์จีนด้วยซ้ำ แถมจบจาก TI6 ก็มีการเปลี่ยน Roster ในทีมถึง 3 คน ถ้าเทียบผลงานที่เป็นชิ้นเป็นอัน DC มีภาษีดีกว่าเยอะ

ผมไม่ได้บอกว่าเค้าดีกว่า DC นะ แต่มันก็ไม่ได้ห่วย ยังอยู่ระดับ TOP เหมือนกัน และถ้านับช่วงหลังอย่างคุณว่า ฟอร์มดีกว่า Wing อีกครับ ถ้าจะให้ quota จีนแค่ 1 โดยดูจากผลงานช่วงหลัง Newbee ยังน่าเชิญกว่า Wing อีก แต่ Wing มีดีกรีแชมป์ TI6 หรืออาจจะมีเหตุผลอื่นที่เค้าไม่ได้เลือก DC ก็ได้ หรืออาจจะเป็นเพราะเป็นทัวร์ Asia เลยให้ quota ฝั่งนี้เยอะก็ได้
