Mozilla เปิดตัว Focus by Firefox ตัวช่วยบล็อคโฆษณาบน iOS 9

เป้าหมายของ Focus คือช่วยรักษาความเป็นส่วนตัวของผู้ใช้ นอกจากการบล็อคโฆษณาแล้วยังบล็อคการตามรอย (tracking) ผู้ใช้จากคุกกี้ของเครือข่ายสังคมและซอฟต์แวร์วิเคราะห์ข้อมูล (analytics) ด้วย ตัวป้องกันการตามรอยใช้เทคโนโลยีเดียวกับ Private Browsing แบบใหม่ ของ Firefox บนพีซี

Focus ยังสามารถบล็อคการแสดงผล Web Fonts ที่ฝังมากับเว็บเพจเพื่อลดปริมาณข้อมูลที่ต้องโหลดหน้าเว็บได้ด้วย

Focus ยังใช้ได้กับ Safari เท่านั้น ไม่สามารถใช้กับ Firefox for iOS ได้ เหตุผลเป็นเพราะแอปเปิลอนุญาตให้ Safari เพียงตัวเดียวเท่านั้นที่เข้าถึง ad blocker ได้ ใครสนใจทดสอบก็ดาวน์โหลดได้จาก App Store

สำหรับคนที่ใช้ iPhone 4S ตอนนี้ลงไม่ได้ครับ มันขึ้นว่า "This app is not compatible with your device." แม้จะอัพเดท iOS แล้วก็ตาม
