ยอดขายสมาร์ทโฟนเดือน พ.ค. 2014 - Galaxy S5 ยังโค่น iPhone 5s ไม่ลง

บริษัทวิจัยตลาด Counterpoint ออกรายงานยอดขายสมาร์ทโฟนยอดนิยมประจำเดือนพฤษภาคม 2014 โดยรวบรวมข้อมูลจาก 35 ประเทศ (มีส่วนแบ่งรวมกัน 90% ของตลาดโลก) พบว่าแชมป์ยังเป็นของ iPhone 5s ที่วางขายมาแล้วเกือบปี ในขณะที่ Galaxy S5 ยังอยู่แค่อันดับสอง ไม่สามารถโค่น iPhone 5s ลงได้

Counterpoint ระบุว่า iPhone 5s ขายได้ 7 ล้านเครื่องในเดือนพฤษภาคม ส่วน Galaxy S5 ขายได้ 5 ล้านเครื่อง ซึ่งถือว่าทำผลงานได้แย่กว่า Galaxy S4 ที่ขายได้เท่ากับ iPhone 5 ที่ 7 ล้านเครื่องในเดือนแรกที่เปิดตัว นักวิเคราะห์ของ Counterpoint ให้สัมภาษณ์กับ Reuters ว่าปัญหาของ Galaxy S5 คือสร้างความแตกต่างกับมือถือที่ราคาถูกกว่าได้ไม่เยอะพอในสายตาผู้บริโภค

อันดับอื่นที่น่าสนใจคือ Xiaomi ส่งมือถือเข้ามาในชาร์ทถึง 2 รุ่นคือ MI3 และ Redmi ที่เริ่มขยายตลาดในเอเชียหลายประเทศแล้ว และ Counterpoint ยังบอกข้อมูลของมือถือรุ่นอื่นๆ ที่เกือบติดชาร์ทคือ Xperia Z1, Moto G, Huawei Honor 3C, LG G2

อัตราส่วนกำไรนั้นไม่ไช่ปัญหา เพราะ freeware อย่าง android ไม่ใด้เน้นกำไรโดยตรง ตอนนี้ google ก็กำลังเล็งตลาดตรงนี้อยู่ เช่น android one ราคาเริ่มต้นที่ 4000 บาท ใด้ update จาก google โดยตรง

ถูกครับ อัตราส่วนกำไรจากการขายเครื่องไม่ใช่ปัญหาของ Google แต่เป็นปัญหาของ Samsung ต่างหาก :-p

ถ้ามองในแง่ OS เพียวๆ ก็มองว่า iOS เป็น freeware ได้เหมือนกันครับ แถมทุกเครื่องยังได้ update จาก Apple โดยตรงแน่ๆ อีกด้วย

ผมมองถึงจำนวนเงินที่บริษัทจะได้ต่อการขายเครื่องไม่ได้เกี่ยวอะไรกับกูเกิ้ลเลย ผมแค่จะบอกว่าแอปเปิ้ลขายเครื่องนึงกำไรหมึ่นนึง กะซัมซังขายมือถือราคาถุกเครื่องนึงกำไรสามร้อยแบบนี้
