นาย Geertjan Wielenga ซึ่งเป็นพนักงานซันได้แสดงให้เห็นความสามารถใหม่ของ NetBeans 5.5 ที่สร้าง Entity Class และ JSF จากดาตาเบสได้โดยไม่ต้องโค๊ด!!!! โดยดูได้ที่บล๊อคของเค้า ซึ่งมี2 ตอนครับ

ทางคุณ Charles Ditzel และคุณ Tim Bray ต่างก็ออกมาบอกว่าการที่ NetBeans พัฒนาให้ใช้ง่ายเช่นนี้ เป็นเพราะต้องการแข่งขันกับภาษาสคริปต์ใหม่ๆที่กำลังมาแรงอย่าง Ruby on Rail หรือแ้ม้กระทั่งภาษาเก่าอย่าง PHP ที่ใช้ง่ายๆทั้งคู่นี่เอง

เริ่มแพ้ใจ Netbeans 5.5 แล้วไหมละครับ :) ผมเลยเสนอให้ใช้ Netbeans 5.5 เพราะมันเขียนง่ายกว่าบน Eclipse เยอะเหมือนกัน โหลดมาตัวเดีียวใช้ได้เลยทันที

ตอนนี้ที่ยังขัดใจเวลาใช้ Netbeans อย่างเดียวนั่นคือมัน hot fix ไม่เก่งเหมือน Eclipse เค้าละ

ไม่รู้ซิ ผมว่าทั้ง NetBeans และ Eclipse มีจุดด้อยจุดหนึ่งกับ jsp คือ เวลาทดลองรัน server มันจะนำไฟล์ทั้งหมดใน folder ที่กำหนดให้เป็น Web Content ไปสร้างไว้ยังพื้นที่อีกพื้นที่หนึ่ง ทำให้เราไม่สามารถใช้โปรแกรมภายนอกอย่างเช่น DreamWeaver แก้ไขไฟล์ jsp ได้ทันที (คือแก้แล้ว แต่มันก็จะไม่แสดงการแก้ไขจนกว่าจะ redeploy ใหม่) ต่างจาก IDE ตัวเสียเงินเจ้าหนึ่ง (ที่กำลังจะขายกิจการส่วน IDE ไป) ที่ไม่มีปัญหากับเรื่องนี้

ออ ผมไม่แน่ใจว่าใน NetBeans 5.5 สามารถแก้ไข Servlet ขณะ Deploy ได้เหมือน Eclipse หรือเปล่า (มันจะ reload ให้อัตโนมัติ) เพราะรู้สึกว่า NetBeans 5 มันจะยังทำไม่ได้ (ต้องสั่งให้ reload เอง) แต่ก็ยอมรับว่าถ้า WTP ของ Eclipse เพิ่ม user interface ให้กับการแก้ไข web.xml นี่ก็จะช่วยให้ทำอะไรง่ายขึ้นอีกหน่อย (ตอนนี้ต้องคลิกขวา add node เอาเอง)

#deans4j Tool ไหนดีผมก็ใช้หมดแหละครับ แม้ว่าตอนนี้จะชอกช้ำกับ NetBeans 3.X อยู่(Tool ที่ใช้ base on ตัวนี้) ถ้า eclipse ตัวหน้าดีผมก็ใช้อีก หลายใจจริง

ผมยังไม่เคยลองเลย netbean 5.5 ปกติตอนนี้ใช้แต่ Eclipse อย่างเดียว ครับ เดี๋ยวต้องหามาลองซะแล้ว
