สำนักข่าว Reuters รายงานว่า TikTok ได้ประกาศปลดพนักงานทั่วโลก โดยมีข้อมูลว่าสาขาที่มาเลเซีย ได้ปลดพนักงานจำนวนมากกว่า 700 ตำแหน่ง แต่ TikTok ยืนยันว่าจำนวนที่ได้รับผลกระทบมีน้อยกว่า 500 ตำแหน่ง

TikTok บอกว่าการปลดพนักงานรอบนี้จะเกิดขึ้นกับสาขาทั่วโลก ส่วนใหญ่เป็นฝ่ายดูแลตรวจสอบเนื้อหา ซึ่ง TikTok มีแผนใช้ AI มาทำหน้าที่นี้แทนมากขึ้น

ปัจจุบัน ByteDance ที่เป็นบริษัทแม่ของ TikTok มีพนักงานรวมมากกว่า 110,000 ตำแหน่ง ใน 200 เมืองทั่วโลก

ผมว่ามีโอกาสเละพอๆ กับ Facebook นะ แต่หากมันทำงานได้ดีเหมือน Great Firewall ของจีนก็น่ากลัวไปอีกแบบนะ คือโดนลบแทบจะทันทีตามนโยบายหรือการคัดกรองของผู้ใช้ระบบ

พูดตรงๆ ที่ผ่านมา AI ที่ใช้คัดกรองเนื้อหา แม้แต่ของ Youtube ก็ยังแย่อยู่เลย คงใช้เวลาอีกนานกว่าจะแทนที่มนุษย์ทั้งหมดได้สมบูรณ์
