พรมแดนของ Android กำลังจะขยับเข้าไปสู่โลกของ x86 เพราะยักษ์ใหญ่แห่ง x86 อย่างอินเทลทนความร้อนแรงของ Android ไม่ไหว ประกาศว่ากำลังพอร์ต Android 2.2 Froyo ให้ทำงานบนซีพียูตระกูล x86 ได้

เป้าหมายของอินเทลย่อมเป็นแท็บเล็ตและเน็ตบุ๊กที่ใช้ Atom นี่คงแสดงให้เห็นว่าอินเทลเองก็เริ่มไม่มั่นใจกับอนาคตของระบบปฏิบัติการเดิมบน x86 สำหรับแท็บเล็ต ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Windows 7 หรือ MeeGo ก็ตาม

อินเทลบอกว่าการพอร์ต Android ไปลง Atom ไม่ใช่เรื่องยากนัก เพราะอินเทลมีประสบการณ์กับการดัดแปลงซอร์สโค้ดลินุกซ์อยู่มากแล้ว

อันนี้ต้องบอกว่าไม่เหมือนกันครับ

ธุรกิจของอินเทลคือ x86 ดังนั้นแล้วถ้าอะไรที่รันบน x86 อินเทลก็ยินดี (เพราะขายชิปได้ก็ได้เงิน) ตอนอินเทลร่วมกับโนเกียก็แอบหวังว่าจะมีโทรศัพท์ หรืออุปกรณ์ขนาดเล็กใช้ x86 (จะได้เงินเพิ่ม) การร่วมกับ Android ก็แบบเดียวกัน

แต่โนเกียมีธุรกิจคือ mobile "platform" รวมทั้งมือถือ, Ovi, อุปกรณ์เครือข่ายอื่นๆ

ถ้าโนเกียไปยอมร่วมกับ Android แสดงว่าโนเกียยอมแพ้ต่อตลาดตัวเอง โดยถอดส่วนหนึ่งของแพลตฟอร์มออกไป กลายเป็นผู้ผลิตเครื่องอีกเจ้าหนึ่งในตลาดเท่านั้น

สาเหตุน่าจะมาจากความร้อนแรงของ iPad ครับ ที่สามารถขายได้มากมายมหาศาลในเวลาอันสั้น

ถ้า intel ไม่ทำอะไรเลย
ซีพียูตระกูล x86 อาจโดนกินส่วนแบ่งการตลาดไปมหาศาลในเวลาอันสั้น
