โซนี่ลดราคา PS2 ลงเหลือ 99 ดอลลาร์

เครื่องเล่นเกมที่ขายดีที่สุดในโลก PlayStation 2 (ยอดขาย 140 ล้านเครื่อง) ประกาศลดราคาอีกครั้ง คราวนี้ลงมาอยู่ที่ 99 ดอลลาร์สหรัฐ (ประมาณ 3,500 บาท) เริ่มมีผลตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 เมษายนนี้เป็นต้นไป

PS2 วางขายเมื่อปี 2000 โดยมีราคา 299 ดอลลาร์สำหรับรุ่นที่ขายในสหรัฐ จากนั้นก็ทยอยลดราคาลงมาเรื่อยๆ พร้อมกับตัวเครื่องแบบใหม่ที่บางลงคือ PStwo การลดราคารอบสุดท้ายก่อนหน้านี้คือปี 2006 ลงมาอยู่ที่ 129 ดอลลาร์ ปัจจุบัน PS2 ยังขายได้เรื่อยๆ และบางเดือนขายดีกว่า PS3 ด้วยซ้ำ ประธานของ SCEA ให้สัมภาษณ์ว่าการลดราคาครั้งนี้อาจช่วยกระตุ้นยอดขายของ PS2 เพิ่มได้อีก

ส่วน PS3 ตอนนี้ราคาอย่างเป็นทางการยังอยู่ที่ 399 ดอลลาร์ ถึงแม้ว่าจะมีข่าวลืออย่างหนักว่าโซนี่เตรียมลดราคาในเดือนเมษายน แต่ก็ยังไม่มีการประกาศอื่นๆ แต่อย่างใด
