ไม้รู้ว่าเกี่ยวข้องกับการปรับโครงสร้างบริษัทของ Google หรือไม่ แต่วันนี้ Niantic Labs ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในทีมย่อยของ Google ประกาศอย่างเป็นทางการว่า ทีมงานได้แยกออกมาเป็นบริษัทต่างหากแล้ว โดยใช้ชื่อว่า Niantic, Inc.

ในประกาศอย่างเป็นทางการครั้งนี้ระบุว่า บริษัทจะสร้างตัวเองจากความสำเร็จของเกมอย่าง Ingress ที่มีผู้ดาวน์โหลดไปกว่า 12 ล้านคน และกิจกรรมในเกมที่สามารถดึงผู้เล่นเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมได้กว่า 250,000 คน นอกจากนั้นแล้วบริษัทยังเริ่มเปิดรับสมัครงานอย่างเป็นทางการบนหน้าเว็บของบริษัทแล้ว

อย่างไรก็ดี เมื่อมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงบริษัทเกิดขึ้น ทาง Google ได้ทำการส่งอีเมลถึงผู้เล่นทุกราย โดยระบุว่าข้อมูลต่างๆ ซึ่งเคยอยู่บนระบบของ Google จะถูกส่งมอบให้กับทาง Niantic ด้วย ซึ่งถ้าหากไม่ต้องการให้ส่งมอบข้อมูลดังกล่าวนี้ สามารถแจ้งไปได้ แต่ทาง Google เตือนว่าหากไม่ส่งมอบ ข้อมูลทั้งหมดในเกม ซึ่งรวมไปถึงสถิติต่างๆ จะโดนลบออกไป และไม่สามารถเรียกคืนกลับมาได้

To prevent any disruption in your gameplay, Google will transfer to Niantic Labs certain data that you agreed to share with Google for the Ingress app under the Google Privacy Policy, specifically gameplay information and your email address. Accordingly, we are providing you this notice that this information will transfer to Niantic Labs thirty days from August 12th, 2015.

If you do not wish to have this personal information transferred to Niantic Labs, please follow the steps at www.ingress.com/optout.

Please note that if you select “No” all your Ingress app data, including Achievement History, Game Progression and other Account information, will be deleted on or before September 11, 2015 and cannot be restored.
