เครื่องแบบ C3 บน Amazon EC2 เต็ม ลูกค้าเปิดเครื่องเพิ่มไม่ได้

แนวคิดบริการกลุ่มเมฆที่สำคัญคือเรามองว่าผู้ให้บริการกลุ่มเมฆจะมีเครื่องสำรองไว้เสมอจนเราสามารถสั่งเช่าเครื่องเพิ่มเมื่อไหร่ก็ได้ แต่ปรากฏหว่าเครื่อง C3 ของ Amazon EC2 ซึ่งเป็นเครื่องรุ่นใหม่ที่เพิ่งเปิดตัวเมื่อเดือนที่แล้ว กลับได้รับความนิยมอย่างสูง จนตอนนี้ลูกค้าไม่สามารถขอเครื่องเพิ่มได้

เครื่อง C3 ใช้ซีพียู Ivy Bridge 2.8 GHz และให้หน่วยความจำต่อเครื่องค่อนข้างสูง รุ่นเล็กที่สุดคือ 2 คอร์ และแรม 3.75 GiB ส่วนรุ่นสูงสุดคือ 32 คอร์ และแรม 60 GiB

ทางอเมซอนแจ้งว่ากำลังเร่งเพิ่มเครื่องเพื่อให้เพียงพอกับความต้องการ

ตอนแรกนึกว่าพิมพ์ผิด GiB แต่พอเข้าไปอ่านในที่มา (AWS -> C3 Family) ถึงเห็นว่าเป็นเช่นนั้น เลยอยากขอความรู้หน่อยครับ

GiB กับ GB ต่างกันอย่างไรเหรอครับ

จริง ๆ แล้วระบบ cloud ของผู้นำตลาด อย่าง Amazon น่าจะมีการ forecast หน่อยนะว่า จะเต็มเมื่อไหร่ อย่างนี้ต้องลุ้นไหมว่า disk จะเต็มเมื่อไหร่

อันนี้มันคงเร็วเกินไปน่ะครับ เปิดตัวมาเดือนเดียวแล้วเต็มนี่ ต่อให้รู้ตัวสักสัปดาห์แรก สั่งของทันที ตอนนี้ของก็ยังส่งไม่ทันเลย

กรณีเครื่อง C3 เต็ม เราสามารถสั่งเครื่องอื่นมาทำงานร่วมกันเลยได้รึเปล่าครับ? ถ้าได้ ผมก็ยังถือว่ามันสามารถเพิ่มเพื่อรองรับความต้องการรับงานที่เพิ่มขึ้นของเราได้นะครับ
