Debian 7.0 Wheezy ออกแล้ว

หลังจากพัฒนามาสองปีกว่า Debian 7.0 รหัส Wheezy ก็ออกรุ่นเสถียรแล้ว ของใหม่มีดังนี้

  • รองรับการบูตด้วย UEFI บนสถาปัตยกรรม amd64 (ยังไม่รองรับ Secure Boot)
  • multiarch สามารถติดตั้งแพกเกจ 32 บิตและ 64 บิตบนเครื่องเดียวกันได้
  • รองรับสถาปัตยกรรม s390x สำหรับ IBM System z แบบ 64 บิต และสถาปัตยกรรม armhf (ARM Hard Float) สำหรับฮาร์ดแวร์สาย ARM ที่เพิ่ม floating point unit
  • เพิ่มเครื่องมือช่วยสร้างระบบกลุ่มเมฆ ทั้งของค่าย OpenStack และ Xen Cloud Platform
  • ใช้ LibreOffice 3.5 แทน OpenOffice
  • X.Org 7.7, GNOME 3.4, KDE 4.8.4, Xfce 4.8
  • ออกไฟล์ ISO สำหรับแผ่น Blu-ray (amd64 กับ i386 อย่างละแผ่น)

Package เก่ามาก แต่ละอัน
ผมว่า Debian น่าจะเอาดีด้าน testing ไปเลยมากกว่านะ บอกว่า package ล่าสุดตลอดเวลา

ไม่รองรับ secure boot ต้องระวัง mbr พังด้วย

Debian ถ้า stable หมายถึงไม่เจอข้อผิดพลาดที่กระทบต่อการใช้งานจริงครับ เลยต้องใช้เวลานาน ที่คิดว่าเก่าอาจเป็นเพราะใช้ Ubuntu ซึ่งใช้ testing ซึ่งจะใหม่กว่า แต่ยังเก่าอยู่ดีครับ Arch นี่ mariadb 10.0.2, apache 2.4, nginx 1.4 เทียบกับ Ubuntu mysql 5.5.30, Apache 2.2.2, nginx 1.2.6

เอ่อ Debian ขึ้นชื่อว่าอัพช้ามากครับ ถ้าจำเป็นต้องใช้โปรแกรมใหม่ ๆ Arch น่าจะเป็นตัวเลือกที่ดีกว่า แต่อย่าลืมพลังของ Debian นะครับ ฐานผู้ใช้เยอะ อยากทำอะไรถามได้ ตอบหมด

ถ้ารุ่น stable ใช้ครับช้า แต่ชัวร์นะครับ upgrade จากเดิมปัญหาน้อยมาก แทบจะไม่จำเป็นต้องติดตั้งใหม่เลย ถ้าอย่างใช้ใหม่ขึ้นหน่อย ลอง testing ซิครับ หรือถ้าอยากเร้าใจ sid เป็นตัวเลือกที่ดีครับ :D

ผมลง Debian แล้วประทับใจตัว installer มากครับ
แต่พอลง stable เจอ Kernel 2.6 นี่ผงะเลยครับ

ไล่หาวิธีลบลง SID แทบไม่ทัน เหมือนกับปู่ OS เลย
ถ้าใช้ทำงานทุกวันคงจะไม่ไหวครับ เหมือนว่าติดอยู่ในยุค 2000 เลย เศร้ามาก

เผื่อไม่ทราบ

  • rhel 6 / centos 6 / debian 6 ใช้ kernel 2.6.32
  • kernel 2.6.32 ที่ออกในช่วงปี 2010

ถ้าใช้งาน desktop ก็ใช้ ubuntu ไปเถอะครับ debian stable เค้าเอาไว้ทำ server ที่ต้องการความเสถียรมากๆ รันยาวๆ 3-4 ปีไม่ล่มเลยอะไรแบบนี้ครับ
