โตชิบาเล็งส่งโน้ตบุ๊คติดชิปกราฟฟิค Cell ภายในปีนี้

จากข่าวเก่าที่โตชิบาโชว์โน้ตบุ๊คที่ใช้ชิป SpursEngine ซึ่งมีพื้นฐานมาจาก Cell ในงาน CES 2008 ที่ผ่านมา ตอนนี้ปรากฏชัดแล้วว่าโตชิบานั้นมีความตั้งใจที่จะส่งชิปกราฟฟิค SpursEngine SE1000 เข้าสู่ตลาดโดยเริ่มจากการติดตั้งชิปดังกล่าวในโน้ตบุ๊คระดับไฮเอนด์รุ่น Qosmio G40 ภายในปีนี้

SE1000 ประกอบไปด้วย SPE จำนวน 4 คอร์ (ปกติ Cell มี SPE สูงสุดจำนวน 8 คอร์) มีความสามารถถอดและเข้ารหัส MPEG2/H.264 ในตัว ที่ความละเอียด 1080p Full HD โดยมุ่งให้ประมวลผลวิดีโอความละเอียดสูงมากกว่าจะเน้นไปที่ตลาด 3D

ส่วนผลิตภัณฑ์อื่น ๆ เช่น ทีวีและเครื่องเล่นที่จะติดตั้งชิปตัวนี้คาดว่าจะถูกส่งตามมาในช่วงฤดูใบไม้ร่วงปี 2009

อ้าว cell นี่มี gpu ด้วยเหรอฮะ นึกว่ามีแต่ CPU ซะอีก

เครื่อง ps3 นี่มันร้อยพ่อพันแม่จริงๆนะ cpu ที่เกิดจากการร่วมมือของ ibm,toshiba,sony แต่โตชิบาที่ร่วมผลิตcpu ดันสร้าง hd dvd เป็นศัตรูฟ้ากำหนดซะงั้น

ปล.สุดท้ายนี้ผมอยากรู้ว่า Cell มันไม่ใช่ X86 ใช่ไหม (เพราะถ้าใช่ป่านนี้ PS3 ทั่วโลกส่วนใหญ่คงลง linux กับ windows เรียบร้อยแล้ว และอาจจะMac OS X ด้วย) แล้วโน้ตบุคที่ว่านี่จะลง OS อะไรหว่า
