คดีขโมยโดเมนเป็นคดีที่เรื้อรังกันมานานทั่วโลก บ้านเราเองก็มีคดีแบบนี้มาแล้วนับครั้งไม่ถ้วน แต่เมื่อคดีนี้เกิดขึ้นกับบริษัทเก่าแก่อย่าง Network Solutions ที่ให้บริการจดโดเมนมายาวนานก็คงน่าสงสัยว่าโลกอินเทอร์เน็ตจะมีบริษัทที่น่าเชื่อถือเหลืออยู่บ้างรึเปล่า

คดีของบริษัท Network Solutions นี้เกิดขึ้นจากการที่ทางบริษัทได้ล็อกทุกโดเมนที่ค้นหาผ่านทางหน้าเว็บชองบริษัทไว้เป็นเวลาห้าวัน ทำให้ผู้ที่ใช้เว็บของทาง Network Solutions ในการตรวจสอบว่าโดเมนว่างหรือไม่ จะไม่สามารถไปจดทะเบียนกับบริษัทอื่นได้เลย

Network Solutions อ้างว่าการกระทำดังกล่าวเป็นไปเพื่อการป้องกันลูกค้าของทาง Network Solutions เองที่ตัวโดเมนจะไม่ถูกจดทะเบียนโดยผู้ประสงค์ร้ายคนอื่นๆ แต่การกระทำแบบนี้โดยไม่แจ้งลูกค้าล่วงหน้าก็ทำให้เกิดเสียงวิพากษ์วิจารณ์อย่างกว้างขวาง และทาง Network Solutions เองก็ถูกฟ้องในที่สุด

ผู้รับหน้าที่ฟ้องในครั้งนี้คือบริษัท Kabateck Brown Kellner LLP ซึ่งเป็นบริษัททนายที่เน้นฟ้องเพื่อคุ้มครองผู้บริโภคเป็นหลัก

จำได้ว่าเคยโดนเหมือนกันครับ ไปลองหาใน netsol เพื่อเช็คว่ามันว่างรึป่าว

พอเห็นว่าว่าง อีกวันก็จะไปทำเรื่องจดก็ปรากฏว่า domain นั้นโดน lock ซะแล้ว -*-

ผมเป็นคนหนึ่งครับที่โดน Network Solutions แย่งโดเมนตัดหน้าไปแบบน่าเกลียด

บังเอิญวันนั้นใช้คำสั่ง whois ผ่าน console ไม่ได้ ผมจึงไปใช้ที่เว็บ who.is กับ whois.net แทน ไอ้กระผมก็คิดว่ามาใช้เว็บกลางๆ แบบนี้คงจะไม่โดนดักแล้ว เลยชะล่าใจไปหน่อย หลังจากนั้น 4-5 ชม. ขณะที่ผมกำลังจะจ่ายเงินผ่านบัตรเครดิต ระบบบอกว่าโดเมนนี้ไม่ว่าง จดโดย Network Solutions ผมอึ้งเลย

เลยทำตัวเป็น ปปส. ล่อซื้อ มันบอกผมว่า "จริงๆ I ก็ชอบนะโดเมนนี้ แต่ถ้า U ต้องการ I จะขายต่อให้ในราคา $35" ... กรวย เถอะครับ กรวยจริงๆ

แค่นั้นยังไม่พอ ผมลองเช็คคำที่ใกล้เคียงกับโดเมนนี้ ปรากฏว่าเพิ่งโดนจดไปเมื่อไม่กี่ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมาเหมือนกัน เฮ้อ มือใครยาวสาวได้สาวเอาจริงๆ : )

ปกติโดเมนที่โดน Network Solution จดเองมันจะใช้ tasting period ระยะเวลาห้าวัน ไม่เสียค่าใช้จ่าย แล้วจะ expire ไปเอง ถ้าหากโดนคนอื่นเสนอราคาแบบนี้ แปลว่าโดน cybersquat มากกว่านะครับ

ปกติเดี๋ยวนี้เวลาจะเช็ค ผมจะใช้หน้า whois ของ Internic
