Lotus Symphony คือซอฟต์แวร์ของ IBM ที่พัฒนาต่อจาก OpenOffice.org แต่เขียนส่วนติดต่อผู้ใช้ของตัวเองขึ้นมาครอบแทน ตอนนี้มันออกรุ่น 3.0 แล้ว

Lotus Symphony 3 พัฒนาจาก OpenOffice.org 3.x จึงได้ฟีเจอร์ใหม่ๆ ตามมาด้วย โดยเฉพาะความสามารถในการอ่านฟอร์แมตเอกสารเพิ่มมาอีกหลายแบบ รายการของใหม่ทั้งหมดอ่านได้จาก Release Notes

Lotus Symphony ประกอบด้วยโปรแกรม 3 ตัวในชุดคือ Documents, Presentations, Spreadsheets ทำงานได้บนวินโดวส์ แมค และลินุกซ์ ตัวนี้ไม่ใช่โอเพนซอร์สแต่สามารถดาวน์โหลดได้ฟรี

ใครใช้แล้วมั่ง ช่วยบอกสรรถคุณให้หน่อยว่า มันมีความพิเศษอะไรที่ดีกว่า OO.o ในแง่การใช้งานทั่วไปสำหรับคนทั่วไป และความเร็ว

มันตอบยาก เป็นเรื่องของ Life style ที่ผมชอบก็ตรงที่มันเปิดเป็น Tab ทำให้เวลาจะ research เรื่องอะไรเพื่อมาทำรายงาน ไม่ต้องเปิด browser ที เปิด writer ที ทั้งหมดนี้ใช้อยู่ในโปรแกรมเดียว ทำให้รู้สึกสะดวกสบายขึ้นแค่นั้นแหละครับ และที่ชอบมาก ๆ ถึงมากที่สุด ชนิดที่เปิดด้วย Office 2010 แล้วต้องรีบแจ้นมาหาตัวนี้คือ การทำ antialiasing ของ font มันเนียนสบายตามาก ๆ

กะว่า Office 2010 beta หมดสิ้นเดือนนี้จะลองโหลดมาใช้ (ขออย่างเดียว ช่วยเร็วขึ้นนิดนึงได้ไหมเนี่ย รุ่น 1.x ช้าเป็นเรือเกลือ)

ผมใช้บางครั้งบางคราว ตั้งแต่ออกเป็น ตัว Beta 2 มา 3

ผมว่าการจัดวางพวก เมนู ดี ...

ทางไอบีเอ็มพยายามทำให้ใช้งานง่ายขึ้น

ตอนนี้ใช้แกนเป็น OpenOffice 3 แล้ว ปัญหาเรื่ื่องรูปแบบ การจัดหน้า
น้อยลงมาก หากต้องสลับเปิดไฟล์ไปมา กับ OpenOffice

ส่วนของ Base ทาง IBM ไม่ได้นำมาทำ เข้าใจว่า เพราะทาง
IBM มีส่วนของ database อยู่แล้ว

ที่น่าสนใจคือ ส่วนการทำงานแบบ Workgroup หรือแชร์ไฟล์เอกสารกัน ...
แต่ผมยังไม่ได้ลองดูมากนัก

มีที่ยังไม่แน่ใจก็คือ ตัว Beta 3 มีปัญหา ไฟล์ odt จาก OpenOffice
ซึ่งกำหนดชื่อ Sytle เป็นภาษาไทย เปิดใน Symphony 3 beta 3 จะปิดตัวลงเอง ...

ผมว่ามีปัญหากับภาษาไทยนะครับ ไม่รู้ว่าเครื่องผมเป็นคนเดียวหรือเปล่าแต่ตัดคำเละแล้วเวลาใส่รูปไปเยอะหน่อยเปิดมารูปกระเด็นไปคนละทิศเลย

เปิดและแก้ไขไฟล์ของ Office 2007 ได้เพี้ยนน้อยกว่า OpenOffice ครับ

แต่ IBm ทำเหมือนไม่อยากให้คนใช้เลยแฮะ แค่ดาวน์โหลดยังจะพยายามทำให้มันวกวน -"-

ผมไม่ชอบ Starter ที่มันทำงานเอง แล้วปิดไม่ได้ครับ ไม่ชอบให้อะไรทำงานขึ้นมาโดยควบคุมไม่ได้ และโดยเฉพาะผมไม่ได้ใช้มันทุกวันแล้ว มันน่ารำคาญอยู่ไม่น้อย

แต่ UI มันสวยกว่า OOo, LO และจัดอะไรดูเข้าที่เข้าทางกว่า
