[CES2010] Freescale เปิดตัว Smartbook, คอมพิวเตอร์ขนาดเล็กราคาต่ำกว่า 200 ดอลลาร์

สงครามคอมพิวเตอร์ขนาดเล็กในยุคต่อไปคงเป็นสงครามระหว่าง ARM และ Intel ในงาน CES ก็เริ่มประกาศศึกกันอีกครั้งเมื่อทาง Freescale ออกเครื่องต้นแบบที่ใช้ชิป i.MX515 และอ้างว่าราคาเครื่องน่าจะขายได้ในราคาต่ำกว่า 200 ดอลลาร์

ชิป i.MX515 โดยนัยแล้วมันคือ ARM Cortex-A8 ที่มากับส่วนขยายอีกสองสามอย่างเช่น OpenVG และคำสั่งพิเศษสำหรับช่วยถอดรหัสภาพวีดีโอ ทำให้ทาง Freescale อ้างว่าชิปนี้จะรองรับวีดีโอได้ถึง 720p แน่

เครื่องรุ่นนี้เป็นเพียงต้นแบบที่ยังไม่มีการผลิตขนาดใหญ่ แต่เราอาจจะเห็นโรงงานในจีนซื้อแบบไปผลิตกันได้เร็วๆ นี้ แต่เท่าที่ผมเห็นแล้วโรงงานในจีนมีชิปของตัวเองจะหลายรุ่น แถมเริ่มรองรับวีดีโอ 1080p กันบ้างแล้ว

แต่ถ้าใครอยู่ในวงการคอมพิวเตอร์ฝังตัวก็นับว่าน่าสนใจมาก เพราะ Smartbook จะมาพร้อมกับ ZigBee ในชื่อว่า RF4CE เราอาจจะเห็นการใช้งานใหม่ๆ จากมันได้อีกเยอะทีเดียว

อุปกรณ์พร้อมรับแล้ว เหลือแต่ OS ว่าจะทำออกมาดีแค่ไหน

ARM ลงวินโดว์ไม่ได้ ตัวเลือกที่น่าสนใจที่สุดตอนนี้คงหนีไม่พ้น Chrome OS (หรือไม่ก็ Android เวอร์ชั่นขยายจอ)

ซึ่งถึงตอนนี้ยังไม่เห็นการใช้งานแบบชัดเจน เลยไม่รู้ว่าจะเจ๋งแค่ไหน

สำหรับผม ถ้าซื้อมาจริง ขอแค่

มี Browser (Chrome) สำหรับเล่นเน็ต พร้อม Extension และที่สำหรับ รองรับภาษาไทย (ไม่เพี้ยน!)
มี Music Player เอาไว้ฟังเพลง ให้ดีก็รับหลายๆ Format หน่อย หลักๆก็ mp3 , ogg , aac
มี Media Player แหล่มๆ ไหนๆ HW ก็รับได้ถึง 720p (หรือมากกว่านั้นแล้ว) ก็ขอโปรแกรมที่เล่น avi , mkv (h.264) ให้เหมือนชาวบ้านหน่อยล่ะกัน อย่ารับแต่ Format แปลกๆ ของตัวเอง
มี IM ดีๆ ที่สามารถออนไลน์ MSN , gtalk , twitter ซึ่งคิดว่าโปรแกรมจำพวกนี้เก่งๆน่าจะมีเยอะแล้ว ถ้าไม่มีจริง ออนบนเว็บเอาก็ได้

เท่าที่เห็นก็คงเป็น Android/Ubuntu ARM ครับ

จริงๆ แล้ว MID ของทางฟากจีนนี่ใช้ Android+Ubuntu ARM+WinCE ไม่ค่อยเห็นอะไรเกินนี้
