จ็อบส์อีเมลถึงผู้พัฒนาที่มีปัญหาเครื่องหมายการค้ากับแอปเปิล : "เปลี่ยนชื่อสิ ไม่เห็นจะยากเลย"

เรื่องราวก็มีอยู่ว่า บริษัท The Little App Factory ได้รับการติดต่อจากบริษัททนายของแอปเปิล เกี่ยวกับชื่อของซอฟต์แวร์ iPodRip ซึ่งเป็นซอฟต์แวร์ที่ใช้สำหรับดึงเพลงจาก iPod หรือ iPhone เซฟมาไว้บนเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ เนื่องจากว่ามีการละเมิดเครื่องหมายการค้าของแอปเปิล หรือนั่นก็คือ "iPod"

แน่นอนว่าทางบริษัทผู้พัฒนาในตอนแรกก็พยายามเจรจากับบริษัททนายตัวแทนของแอปเปิล เพื่อหาข้อยุตินี้โดยไม่ต้องเปลี่ยนชื่อซึ่งสื่อถึงคุณสมบัติของซอฟต์แวร์ แต่ก็ไม่เป็นผล จึงตัดสินใจเขียนอีเมลยาวยืดหาจ็อบส์ โดยหวังว่าจะช่วยแก้ไขปัญหานี้ได้ (ดูได้ในที่มา)

หลังจากนั้นไม่นาน บริษัทฯ ก็ได้รับอีเมลตอบกลับที่ถูกส่งจากไอโฟนของจ็อบส์ โดยมีข้อความสั้นๆ บรรทัดเดียวว่า "เปลี่ยนชื่อโปรแกรมสิ ไม่เห็นจะยากเลย" (Change your apps name. Not that big of a deal.)

สุดท้าย ทาง The Little App Factory จึงตัดสินใจเปลี่ยนชื่อซอฟต์แวร์เป็น iRip เพื่อยุติปัญหาทั้งหมด

ผมว่าถ้าจะเปลี่ยนเปลี่ยนเป็น จ็อบส์อีเมลถึงผู้พัฒนา : "เปลี่ยนชื่อสิ ไม่เห็นจะยากเลย" ข่าวจะน่าสนใจกว่าครับ ส่วนเรื่องชื่อ ฮา Apple จาก iPodRip ที่มีความหมายหมายตรงตัวและดูไม่ใช่ของจาก Apple กลายเป็น iRip ที่เหมือนมาจาก Apple โดยตรงซะงั้น
