นานกันจนลืมไปแล้ว Final Fantasy XVI ประกาศออกเวอร์ชัน Xbox Series X|S หลังเวอร์ชัน PS5 (ออกปี 2023) นาน 2 ปี และหลังเวอร์ชันพีซี 1 ปี

เกมเวอร์ชัน Xbox มีให้เลือกเป็น Standard Edition มีเฉพาะเกมภาคหลัก ราคา 49.99 ดอลลาร์ และ Complete Edition ที่รวม DLC สองตัว Echoes of the Fallen กับ The Rising Tide ราคา 69.99 ดอลลาร์ วางขายแล้ววันนี้

แต่ที่นานกว่าภาค 16 ยังมี Final Fantasy VII Remake ที่ออกบน PS4 ในปี 2020 ใช้เวลา 5 ปีเดินทางตามหา Jenova มาถึง Xbox Series X|S มีกำหนดวางขายปลายปี 2025

เกมที่ขายเป็นเวอร์ชัน Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade ตัวเดียวกับที่ขายบน PS5 และพีซีในปี 2021

ช่วงหลายปีให้หลัง (จากภาค XV) เกม Final Fantasy ถือเป็นจุดอับของแพลตฟอร์ม Xbox มาโดยตลอด ส่วนหนึ่งเพราะ Square Enix ทำสัญญาเอ็กซ์คลูซีฟกับโซนี่ แต่ช่วงหลังสถานการณ์ของฝั่ง Xbox ก็เริ่มดีขึ้น นับจาก FF14 ลง Xbox ในปี 2024 บวกกับแนวทางของ Square Enix เองที่เลิกทำเอ็กซ์คลูซีฟแล้ว ทำให้เราเห็นภาค FF16 และ FF7 Remake ประกาศลง Xbox ในปีนี้ เท่ากับว่าภาคหลักตอนนี้ยังขาดแค่เพียง FF7 Rebirth ที่น่าจะตามมาในลำดับถัดไป
