Apple ตอบคำถาม Mac Studio ไม่ทำรุ่น M4 Ultra ออกมาเพราะ "ไม่ใช่ชิปทุกรุ่นที่จะได้ Ultra"

แอปเปิลเปิดตัว Mac Studio รุ่นใหม่เมื่อคืนนี้ ทิ้งช่วงจากรุ่นก่อนหน้านี้เกือบสองปี แต่มีประเด็นน่าสนใจคือแอปเปิลเลือกให้คอนฟิกชิป Apple Silicon เป็นรุ่น M4 Max และ M3 Ultra แทนที่จะเป็นชิปเลขเดียวกันแล้วแบ่งเป็น Max/Ultra เหมือนตอน M1 และ M2 แต่ถึงอย่างนั้น M3 Ultra ก็มีสเป็กที่สูงกว่า M4 Max อยู่มาก

Ars Technica สอบถามเหตุผลที่แอปเปิลเลือกทำแบบนี้ แทนที่จะเป็น M4 Ultra ที่ใช้ M4 Max สองตัวต่อกัน ซึ่งสเป็กน่าจะสูงกว่านี้อีก คำตอบคือ "ไม่ใช่ชิปทุกรุ่นที่ต้องมีตัว Ultra"

คำอธิบายของแอปเปิลนี้อาจบอกใบ้ว่าเราจะไม่เห็น M4 Ultra ซึ่งมีความเห็นจาก Mark Gurman แห่ง Bloomberg ก่อนหน้านี้ว่าแอปเปิลอาจเก็บ M4 Ultra ไว้ให้ Mac Pro เพื่อให้ทำ Mac Pro เป็นฮาร์ดแวร์มีสเป็กที่แรงกว่า Mac Studio อย่างชัดเจนขึ้น

ผมเกลียดการที่ Apple ชอบคิดคำดีๆ มาอธิบายจุดด้อยตัวเองได้, หรือไม่ก็เลี่ยงไม่บอกดื้อๆ

  • มีติ่งบนจอ ในยุคที่มือถือแบรนด์อื่นๆ ไร้ติ่ง เรียกติ่งตัวเองว่า Dynamic island,
  • Type-C ตัวเองคิดค้น แต่ไม่ใช้ ดันไปทำของมาขายเรียก Lightning, สุดท้ายโดนบีบใช้ Type-C แล้วบอด Type-C ตัวเองดีแบบนั้นแบบนี้
  • AI ตัวเองมาช้า, เลยตั้งชื่อว่า Apple Intelligent
  • ความจุแบตฯ ไม่บอก เพราะตัวเองน้อยกว่าแบรนด์อื่นๆ
  • แรมมือถือ ไม่บอก เพราะน้อยกว่าชาวบ้าน
  • และอื่นๆ อีกมากมาย รวมถึงข่าวนี้

ผมก็รู้สึกแบบคุณนะ แต่ที่แย่กว่าคือมีวอนนาบีผู้ถือหุ้นไปปกป้องซะงั้น รู้สึกยินดีทั้งๆที่ตัวเองเสียผลประโยชน์

ผมว่านี่เอกลักษณ์ของ Apple เลยแบบไม่ใช้คำซ้ำกับคนอื่นต้องคิดคำอะไรใหม่มาขาย เจ้าอื่นไม่คิดก็โปรโมทตรงๆ ธรรมดา ไม่รู้สึกแตกต่าง

เรื่องติ่ง เกาะ อยากแย่งตรงเจ้าอื่นเขาเลิกทำ scan ม่านตา หรือ scan หน้าแบบล้ำๆ นะครับ เห็นใช้แค่กล่องสีธรรมดาตัวเดียวภาพ 2D ส่วน Apple ใช้ Scan หน้าที่เยอะกว่า เยอะกว่าแบบของ Windows Hello อีกครับ จะลดอะไรใต้จอดูมันจะยากกว่ามั้งครับ พวกอื่นๆ แบบ เหมือนเคยมีภาพตามอินเตอร์เน็ทที่ชูขายของ เช่น ความจุ 128 GB แต่ Apple จะชูขายว่า จุได้พันเพลงไรงี้ น่าจะทำให้ user บ้านๆ เห็นภาพมากกว่านะครับ

ยังไม่มี M4 Ultra เพราะยังทำไม่เสร็จ เดี๋ยวมี ก็บอกเร็วขึ้น แรงขึ้น ว่าไป
