ที่ผ่านมา มือถือของซัมซุงใช้ชิปจากหลายค่าย ทั้ง Exynos ของซัมซุงเอง, Snapdragon ของ Qualcomm และชิปจาก MediaTek ในมือถือรุ่นล่างๆ หากคิดสัดส่วนมือถือซัมซุงที่ใช้ Exynos อาจมีเพียง 20% ของมือถือทั้งหมดเท่านั้น

ปีหน้าแนวทางของซัมซุงอาจเปลี่ยนไป เว็บไซต์ ET News ของเกาหลีใต้รายงานว่า ซัมซุงมีแผนเพิ่มสัดส่วนมือถือที่ใช้ Exynos มาเป็น 50-60% เลยทีเดียว

เหตุผลหลักๆ คงเป็นว่า ซัมซุงเตรียมคัมแบ็คอย่างยิ่งใหญ่กับ Exynos ของปี 2022 ที่จะใช้จีพียูจาก AMD บนชิปมือถือเป็นครั้งแรก และน่าจะทยอยใช้งานกับชิประดับรองๆ ตัวอื่นๆ ในระยะถัดไป

ET News ยังอ้างแหล่งข่าวในอุตสาหกรรมว่าซัมซุงแก้ปัญหาเรื่องประสิทธิภาพ 5G และปัญหาความร้อนของ Exynos ได้แล้วด้วย

ถ้า Exynos ประหยัดแบตได้เท่ากับ Snapdragon ก็น่าจะดี
อย่างเครื่องที่ใช้งานอยู่ A71 5G Exynos980 แค่เปิดเครื่องเอาไว้รอรับสายไม่ได้ใช้งานอะไร
จะ standby ได้ 4 วันทำได้แค่สูสีกับ XZP เครื่อเก่าที่แบต 3000 แค่นั้น
และซดแบตเทียบเท่ากับ A52S 5G Snapdragon 778 5G ที่มีการเปิดหน้าจอใช้งานประมาณ 2 ชั่วโมงครับ
