เว็บไซต์ Huawei Central อ้างบทสัมภาษณ์ของ Wang Chengdu ผู้บริหารฝ่ายซอฟต์แวร์ของ Huawei Consumer กับสื่อจีน ในประเด็น HaymonyOS คือ Android ที่ตัดคำว่า AOSP ออก

คำตอบของ Chengdu คือ "การบอกว่า AOSP คือฐานรากของ HongmengOS และ Huawei แค่เปลี่ยนสกินของ OS เท่านั้น แปลว่าทุกคนเข้าใจความหมายของโอเพนซอร์สผิดไป" เขายังบอกว่าโค้ดส่วนใหญ่ใน AOSP มาจากชุมชนโอเพนซอร์ส และระบุว่า HongmengOS จะใช้โค้ดจากชุมชนเหล่านี้

ทั้งนี้ คำตอบของ Chengdu ที่ Huawei Central นำมาสรุปยังไม่ค่อยชัดเจนนัก และยังไม่พบเว็บไซต์อื่นที่รายงานข่าวนี้โดยตรง

โค้ดส่วนใหญ่ใน AOSP

โค้ดส่วนใหญ่ใน AOSP มาจากชุมชนโอเพนซอร์ส

ถ้าไม่นับ Linux หรือ lib มาตรฐานต่างๆนี่ โค้ตส่วนใหญ่มาจาก Google ล้วนๆเลย

AOSP เป็น open source ก็จริงแต่การวาง roadmap และการ develop ส่วนใหญ่มาจาก Google แค่เปิดเผย source code ให้คนอื่นไปเอาใช้ได้มากกว่า (ลองเทียบกับ Linux Kernel ที่ไม่ได้มีบริษัทไหนกำหนดได้บริษัทเดียวว่าจะไปทางไหนต่อ)

ตั่งแต่หัวเหว่ยโดนแบนแล้วประกาศ OS ตัวเอง จำได้ว่าเคยคอมเม้นไปแล้วว่าเป็น Android เอามาทำต่อแน่นอน เพราะยังไงก็เป็นไปไม่ได้ที่จะทำใหม่ได้เร็วขนาดนั้น

ปัญหามันเกิดจาก Android เป็น OpenSorce แต่ใช้คำว่า Android ใช้ได้แต่ os และการที่ Android ยุกหลังอิงกับ google api มากขึ้นทำให้คนที่ต้องการเอาไปใช้ต่อก็ต้องทำส่วนที่มาแทนที่ google api เพื่อให้ OS ทำงานได้เหมือน Android ของ google ในเมือ ui เดิมอ้างอิงกับ google api วิธีเร็วสุด ถ้าไม่ได้กอปโคดมา แต่ชื่อเหมือนก็ไม่ต่างจาก oracle ฟ้อง google เรื่อง java
