Android 11 มาแล้ว กูเกิลออก Developer Preview ตัวแรก

หลังกูเกิลเผลอปล่อยหน้าเว็บ Android 11 ก่อนกำหนด วันนี้ Android 11 ของจริงเปิดให้ทดสอบกันแล้ว โดยถือเป็นการออก Developer Preview ที่เร็วกว่ารอบปกติของกูเกิลด้วย (Android 10 ออกกลางเดือนมีนาคม)

อุปกรณ์ที่สามารถทดสอบ Android 11 ได้แล้ววันนี้คือ Pixel 2, 3, 3a, 4 เข้าไปสมัครที่หน้าเว็บ Android Preview

ฟีเจอร์ใหม่ของ Android 11 ที่น่าสนใจมีดังนี้

  • ปรับปรุง connectivity API สำหรับการเชื่อมต่อ 5G เช่น Dynamic meteredness API ใช้เช็คว่าเป็นการเชื่อมต่อเน็ตที่จำกัดปริมาณหรือไม่, Bandwidth estimator API สำหรับประเมินขนาดแบนด์วิธก่อนดาวน์โหลด
  • รองรับรูปแบบหน้าจอประเภทใหม่ๆ เช่น การเจาะรูแบบ pinhole หรือ waterfall
  • จัดหมวด notification แยกกลุ่ม "แชท" ออกมาให้ชัดเจน, แทรกรูปในหน้า reply ของ notification ได้แล้ว, เพิ่ม Bubbles หน้าต่างแชทที่ลอยทับแอพอื่นๆ ที่เลื่อนมาจาก Android 10 (แบบเดียวกับ Facebook Messenger แต่อันนี้ทำที่ระดับ OS)
  • Neural Networks API 1.3 เพิ่ม API ย่อยๆ สำหรับงานประมวลผล AI อีกหลายอย่าง
  • ปรับปรุงเรื่อง privacy หลายอย่าง รองรับการอนุมัติสิทธิเข้าถึงครั้งเดียว (one-time permission)
  • Scoped Storage ที่เลื่อนมาจาก Android 10
  • API สำหรับ Biometric รองรับการใช้งานหลากหลายขึ้น แยกความปลอดภัยได้ 3 ระดับคือ strong, weak, device credential
  • Project Mainline ฟีเจอร์ของ Android 10 ที่แบ่งบางส่วนของ OS มาอัพเดตผ่าน Play Store ขยายโมดูลที่อัพเดตผ่าน Play Store เป็น 22 โมดูล (ของเดิม 10 โมดูล)
  • Android NDK รองรับ native image decoder ทำให้แอพสามารถจัดการไฟล์ภาพชนิดต่างๆ ได้เลย โดยนักพัฒนาไม่ต้องใส่ไลบรารีจัดการภาพมาด้วยให้ APK บวม
