Lightnet สตาร์ทอัพด้าน Fintech ของประเทศไทย ประกาศรับเงินลงทุนซีรี่ส์ A ถึง 31.2 ล้านดอลลาร์ หรือราว 940 ล้านบาท โดยมีกลุ่มผู้ลงทุน อาทิ UOB Venture Management, Seven Bank และ Uni-President Asset Holdings

Lightnet ก่อตั้งโดยคุณชัชวาลย์ เจียรวนนท์ และคุณตฤบดี อรุณานนท์ชัย โดยเป็นบริการบล็อกเชนที่ทำงานบนเครือข่าย Stellar มีเป้าหมายเพื่อให้การโอนเงินข้ามประเทศทำได้ด้วยต้นทุนที่ถูกลง เข้าถึงกลุ่มแรงงานที่ทำงานนอกประเทศ โดยเฉพาะจากภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ซึ่งธุรกรรมแรกจะเริ่มดำเนินงานได้ภายในไตรมาสแรกของปีนี้ พาร์ทเนอร์ที่จะให้บริการในช่วงแรกซึ่ง Lightnet ระบุถึงมีทั้ง MoneyGram, Seven Bank, Yeahka และ Ksher

ปกติจะแบ่งค่าธรรมเนียมสามฝ่าย คือ
ธนาคารผู้โอน
ธนาคารตัวกลางที่ Settle เงินให้ และ
ธนาคารผู้รับ โดยประมาณขาละ 20 USD รวมเป็น 60 USD ครับ (Fee/Trx)

ต้นทุนหลักๆคือค่าคนที่ต้องคอยตรวจเอกสารเพื่อให้ Comply กับเกณฑ์การฟอกเงิน และ เกณฑ์ ธปท.
ทั้งของในประเทศ ระหว่างประเทศ และ ประเทศปลายทาง

(ธนาคารตัวกลางคืนธนาคารระหว่างประเทศที่จะมีบัญชีของทั้งธนาคารต้นทาง และ ธนาคารปลายทาง
เลยทำหน้าที่โยกเงินระหว่างบัญชีแทนได้เลย)
