Dell กำลังซุ่มทำ "อุปกรณ์พกพาสำหรับเล่นเน็ต" รัน Android

Wall Street Journal อ้างแหล่งข่าวจากภายในบริษัท Dell ว่าทีมวิศวกรกำลังพัฒนา "อุปกรณ์พกพาสำหรับเล่นเน็ต" (ต้นฉบับใช้คำว่า pocket-sized device for tapping into the Internet)

ข้อมูลที่มีตอนนี้คือ

  • ใช้ระบบปฏิบัติการ Android
  • ขนาดใหญ่กว่า iPod touch เล็กน้อย ใกล้เคียงกับ iPhone แต่ไม่มีฟังก์ชันการโทรศัพท์
  • อาจวางขายภายในสิ้นปีนี้ หรืออาจจะถูกยกเลิกโครงการไปเลยถ้าไม่เวิร์ค
  • อาจจะใช้ซีพียูตระกูล ARM
  • เริ่มพัฒนาโครงการนี้ตั้งแต่ปี 2008 โดยโยกจากทีมที่เคยพัฒนาเครื่องเล่น MP3 เดิม

นอกจากนี้ยังมีข่าวว่า Dell กำลังพัฒนาสมาร์ทโฟนที่ใช้ Android อีกเช่นกัน

ทำไมเขาถึงฮิตจอเล็กๆ เล่นเน็ตกันจัง จอขนาดเน็ตบุ๊คนี่รับได้อยู่นะแต่ถ้าเล็กเท่าฝ่ามือไม่ไหว กว่าจะอ่านหมดจ้องจนปวดตา ชีวิตประจำวันมันพึ่งพาเน็ตขนาดนั้นเลยเหรอ

google ลุกลามไปเรื่อยๆ พอคนเริ่มเคยชินกับ Android จากอุปกรณ์พกพา
การขึ้นฝั่งบุกเข้ายึด desktop os คงไม่ใช่เรื่องเพ้อฝัน

ถ้าขึ้นมาฝั่ง Desktop OS น่าจะครองตลาดได้แค่บางส่วนเท่านั้นนะครับ เนื่องด้วยว่ามันเป็น OS ขนาดเล็ก ตั้งใจลงตลาดอุปกรณ์พกพามากกว่า ทำให้ความสามารถในเรื่องของ Desktop OS บางอย่างมันอาจจะไม่สู Windows , Linux หรือ OSX

แต่คิดว่าถ้ามันขึ้นมาจริงๆ คงได้รับการพัฒนาในจุดนี้แล้ว ไม่งั้นตายตั้งแต่ในมุ้งแน่ๆครับ

ปล.อีกหน่อยเราจะได้ยินคำว่า Google Zealot เพิ่มมาอีกคำ หุหุ

  • เริ่มพัฒนาโครงการนี้ตั้งแต่ปี 2008 โดยโยกจากทีมที่เคยพัฒนาเครื่องเล่น MP3 เดิม

หน้าตาผลิตภัณฑ์ของ Dell สวยๆ หากอย่าง เห็นมีเจ้า ademo นี้แหละสวยสุดแล้ว แต่ว่ามันเลียนแบบ Macbook น่ะ

Android น่าสนใจสุด ๆ ไปเลย คงคิดไม่ผิดที่หันมาพัฒนาโปรแกรม ของ Android แล้วละนะ

ผมว่า google เห็นช่องว่างตลาดบางอย่างแล้วแหล่ะ คงไม่ใช่ Desktop OS เป็นอุปกรณ์ที่ใหญ่กว่า Smart Phone แต่ไม่ใหญ่เท่า Notebook หรือ Netbook input ข้อมูลผ่าน touch screen น่าจะตอบโจทย์ Android ได้ ดีไม่ดีอาจมาแทนที่ Netbook ในอนาคตก็ได้นะ ถ้าสังเกตุ Trend ของตลาดดีๆ จะเห็นว่าหลายบริษัทเริ่มวิจัยทำตัว Hardware กันแล้ว
