หลังจาก Chrome ไม่เล่นไฟล์ Flash บนแบนเนอร์โฆษณา รวมถึงประกาศไม่รับแบนเนอร์แบบ Flash ไปก่อนหน้านี้แล้วนั้น ล่าสุด Google ประกาศว่าจะเปลี่ยนตัวเล่นวิดีโอแบบดีฟอลต์ให้เป็น HTML 5 ในช่วงปลายปีนี้ครับ

อย่างไรก็ตาม Chrome ยังคงรองรับ Flash ต่อไป โดยหากเจอเว็บไซต์ที่ยังใช้ Flash เบราว์เซอร์จะแสดงหน้าต่างให้ผู้ใช้เลือกเปิดใช้งาน โดยทาง Google จะมีอันดับไวท์ลิสต์ ยกเว้นเว็บที่ยังรันด้วย Flash ที่คนเข้าเยอะที่สุดไว้ในช่วงแรกด้วย ซึ่งอันดับนี้จะมีอายุเพียง 1 ปี

ผมสงสัยอย่างนึง ระหว่าง Flash

ผมสงสัยอย่างนึง ระหว่าง Flash กับ HTML5 อันไหนกินทรัพยากรมากกว่ากัน เพราะบางทีลองเล่นบนคอมเครื่องเก่า (PowerBook G4 1.5GHz) แล้วเปิด Youtube ดูวีดิโอผ่าน Flash กลับลื่นกว่า HTML5 อย่างเห็นได้ชัด

ผมเข้าใจว่า HTML5 ควรจะกินทรัพยากรน้อยกว่า Flash แต่ไหงดูเหมือนว่ามันจะกลับกันซะงั้น

ปล. รอ Kancolle แปลงเป็น HTML5 จะได้ไม่ต้องกลัวเรื่องช่องโหว่ Flash

อย่างแรกก็อยู่ที่ codec ด้วยครับว่า Flash ใช้ตัวเล่นวิดีโอไหน (น่าจะทำเอง) แล้วก็ตัว browser เอาตัวเล่นวิดีโอไหนมาใช้กับ HTML5 อยู่ที่ตัวไหนปรับแต่งมาดีกว่า ใช้ฟีเจอร์ช่วยของ CPU ได้มากกว่า ซึ่งแต่ละ browser ก็ใช้ตัวเล่นวิดีโอสำหรับ HTML5 ต่างกันไป อีกอย่างคือผมไม่แน่ใจว่า YouTube นี่ เล่นผ่าน Flash กับ HTML5 ส่งวิดีโอเดียวกันมาให้หรือเปล่า

พวก Intel Atom ตัวล่างๆ เลยนี่เล่น HTML5 YouTube แบบ 4K ซีพียูยังแทบไม่กระดิกเลยครับ คือตัวเล่นวิดีโอมันใช้ฟีเจอร์ของพวกซีพียู-การ์ดจอจัดการจนหมด คงเอาการเล่นวิดีโอมาเป็นตัวหลักว่าใครกินทรัพยากรมากกว่ากันได้ยาก
