ไมโครซอฟท์ปล่อยอัพเดต Windows 10 รุ่นทดสอบ 9879 จำนวน 4 รายการ ดังนี้

• KB3008923 Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer
• KB3016711 Vulnerability in VBScript Scripting Engine Could Allow Remote Code Execution
• KB3020114 Explorer.exe continuously crashes after you upgrade to Windows Server Technical Preview or Windows 10 Technical Preview
• KB3022827 อัพเดต Internet Explorer และ Adobe Flash Player (ไม่พบหน้ารายละเอียดอัพเดตบนเว็บ Microsoft Support - Computerworld)

ข่าวร้ายคืออัพเดตรอบนี้มีปัญหาทำให้ติดตั้งไม่ได้ ดังนี้

อย่างแรก Gabriel Aul หัวหน้าทีม Data and Fundamentals ของ Operating Systems Group เผยว่า ร้อยละ 12 ของคอมพิวเตอร์ที่ติดตั้ง Windows รุ่นทดสอบข้างต้นจะไม่สามารถติดตั้ง KB3020114 ได้ สาเหตุเนื่องจาก

1. รุ่นทดสอบ 9879 มากับโค้ด System Compression ชุดใหม่ ซึ่งช่วยให้ระบบปฏิบัติการบนเครื่องที่ใช้ SSD ลดใช้งานดิสก์ (disk usage) ลง แต่บางกรณีลอจิกการเช็คว่าเครื่องเหลือพื้นที่เก็บข้อมูลน้อยเกินไป (low-space) ทำงานผิด เครื่องจึงบีบอัดข้อมูลอัตโนมัติ
2. เครื่องที่เปิดฟีเจอร์บีบอัดข้อมูลไว้จะมีบั๊กในการทำงานของ filesystem ส่งผลให้ตัวติดตั้ง KB3020114 ทำงานผิดพลาด

บริษัทแนะนำวิธีแก้ปัญหาเฉพาะหน้า (workaround) ที่ Microsoft Community แต่บริษัทจะไม่ถอดอัพเดต KB3020114 เพื่อแก้ไขแล้วปล่อยอัพเดตใหม่เหมือนเช่นทุกครั้ง เพราะผู้ที่เข้าร่วมโครงการ Windows Insider เป็นผู้ที่รู้ข้อมูลเชิงเทคนิค และอย่างน้อยอัพเดตนี้ก็ช่วยแก้ปัญหา Explorer.exe ล่มได้ระดับหนึ่ง บริษัทขอเวลาอีกไม่นานเพื่อแก้ปัญหาสองรายการข้างต้นและทดสอบว่าจะไม่เกิดปัญหาติดตั้งอัพเดตไม่ได้อีก

อย่างที่สอง Gabriel ทวีตว่า สำหรับใครที่ติดตั้งอัพเดตด้านความปลอดภัยบนเครื่องที่ติดตั้งชุด Office ไม่ได้ ให้ติดตั้ง KB3022827 แล้วรีสตาร์ทเครื่องแล้วติดตั้งอัพเดตที่เหลือ หากทำแล้วไม่ประสบผล ให้ถอนการติดตั้ง Office ติดตั้งอัพเดต แล้วค่อยติดตั้งชุด Office ใหม่

หมายเหตุ: เนื่องจากผมไม่ได้ใช้ Windows 10 รุ่นทดสอบ เลยนับจำนวนอัพเดตที่เป็นข่าวและที่ปรากฏบนหน้าเว็บ TechNet Security TechCenter ของไมโครซอฟท์ พบว่ามีอัพเดตทั้งหมด 4 รายการ แต่ Gabriel ระบุมีอัพเดตเพียง 3 รายการเท่านั้น

#WindowsInsiders there are 3 updates now published on WU for 9879. 2 security updates and 1 update for an HDD failure affecting some people.

#WindowsInsiders - please try to install KB3022827 *before* the workaround to uninstall Office first. It will work for many, no harm if not.
