Activation lock ใน iOS 7 ช่วยลดปัญหา iPhone หายได้จริง

Activation lock ที่มาพร้อมกับ iOS 7 จะทำให้ผู้ใช้เจ้าของเครื่องสามารถสั่งล็อกเครื่อง iPhone ที่หายไปผ่าน Apple ID ที่ใช้ในเครื่องนั้นๆ ซึ่งกลายเป็นว่านับตั้งแต่แอปเปิลเปิดตัวความสามารถนี้ออกมา ตัวเลขของจำนวน iPhone ที่โดนขโมยไปในหลายๆ เมืองกลับลดลงอย่างเห็นได้ชัด

The New York Times รายงานว่าตัวเลขของการขโมยอุปกรณ์เคลื่อนที่ของแอปเปิลลดลงกว่า 29% ในช่วง 5 เดือนแรกของปีนี้เมื่อเทียบกับปีที่แล้ว ขณะที่ใน San Francisco ลดลง 38% และ 24% ในลอนดอน ภายหลังจากที่แอปเปิลเปิดตัวฟีเจอร์นี้ออกมา

แต่ดูเหมือนคนไทยจะยังไม่ค่อยรู้ว่าแอปเปิลมีฟีเจอร์ที่มีประโยชน์อย่าง activation lock รวมไปถึง find my iPhone ไว้สำหรับกรณีที่อุปกรณ์เกิดหายไปนะครับ เห็นคนรอบตัวหายทีไร นั่งน้ำตาตกกันอย่างเดียวเลย

ก็อาจจะลดความเสี่ยงในการขโมยลงได้บ้าง ถ้ารู้ว่าเอาไปก็ใช้งานไม่ได้ เอาไปขายต่อก็ขายยาก สู้เลือกขโมยยี่ห้ออื่นที่ไม่มีระบบป้องกันอะไรเลยดีกว่าไม๊ ?

เครื่องผมที่ถูกขโมยไป คนร้ายล้างเครื่องหมดแต่ติด Activation lock เข้าเครื่องไม่ได้มา 4 เดือน พยายยามรีเซ็ท Apple ID อีกต่างหาก
