Fedora 42 ออกแล้ว ปรับสถานะของรุ่น KDE เทียบเท่ารุ่น GNOME

Fedora

สัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา Fedora ออกเวอร์ชัน 42 ที่ตอนนี้แตกลูกแตกหลานออกไปเยอะมาก หากนับเฉพาะ Editions หลักมีทั้งหมด 6 ตัวคือ Workstation, KDE Plasma Desktop, Cloud, Server, CoreOS, IoT

การเปลี่ยนแปลงสำคัญคือ Fedora ที่เป็น KDE Plasma Desktop ถูกเลื่อนสถานะขึ้นมาเป็น Edition กับเขาแล้ว (เทียบเท่ากับ Fedora Workstation ที่ใช้ GNOME) เท่ากับว่าผู้ใช้สามารถเลือกได้ว่าจะใช้ระบบเดสก์ท็อปหลักเป็น KDE Plasma 6.3 หรือ GNOME 48

ของใหม่อย่างอื่นที่มีใน Fedora 42 ได้แก่ UI ตอนติดตั้งแบบใหม่ (Anaconda WebUI) ที่หน้าตาเป็นเหมือน wizard แนะนำขั้นตอนไปทีละขั้น, รวม /usr/bin กับ /usr/sbin เข้าด้วยกันแล้ว (/usr/sbin กลายเป็น symlink ไปยัง /usr/bin), อิมเมจสำหรับชิปสถาปัตยกรรม RISC-V ออกทันพร้อมกับ Fedora 42 สถาปัตยกรรมอื่นๆ, ออกอิมเมจ Fedora 42 ให้กับ Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) เพิ่มเติม

เพิ่งอัพไป บั๊กของ Firefox ที่ผมเจอยังอยู่เหมือนเดิม ตอนแรก Mozilla บอกว่าเป็น bug ฝั่ง Gnome ที่จะแก้ใน version 48 แง่มๆ แถม Short key Alt+Left Shift ที่เอาไว้เปลี่ยนภาษาตีกันอีก

ย้ายไปใช้ KDE ดีมั้ยนะ แต่จริงๆก็ชินกับ Gnome ล่ะ คงต้องใช้ Browser ตัวอื่นแทน
