ตามรายงานของ Mat Piscatella กรรมการบริหารของ Circana บริษัทวิเคราะห์ตลาดระบุว่าเกม Hogwarts Legacy เป็นเกมที่มียอดขายสูงสุดในสหรัฐอเมริกาในปี 2023 โดยเป็นเกมแรกในรอบ 15 ปีที่ไม่ใช่เกมจากซีรี่ส์ Call of Duty หรือเกมจาก Rockstar Games (เกมสุดท้ายที่ทำได้คือ Rock Band ออกปี 2008)

ในภาพรวม Call of Duty ยังคงเป็นแฟรนไชส์ที่ขายดีที่สุดของปี 2023 อยู่ เพราะภาค Modern Warfare 3 ได้อันดับ 2 และ Modern Warfare 2 ได้อันดับ 7 นอกจากนี้ในชาร์ทยังระบุว่าเกม Madden NFL 24 ได้อันดับ 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ได้อันดับ 5 และ The Legend of Zelda: Tear of the Kingdom ได้อันดับ 5 ซึ่งเป็นเกมที่นับยอดขายได้แค่แบบแผ่นเท่านั้น เนื่องจาก Nintendo ไม่เปิดเผยยอดขายเกมดิจิทัลของตน

อาจต้องแยกคำว่าเกมส์ที่ดี กับเกมส์ที่ขายดีให้ออกจากกันก่อนนะครับ เกมส์ที่ดีหมายถึง นักวิจารณ์ หรือผู้ให้คะแนนให้การยอมรับเพราะมีความแปลกใหม่ มีเนื้อเรื่องที่ดี แนวคิดในการเล่นมีความแปลกใหม่ ส่วนเกมส์ขายดีก็ตรงตัว คือเกมส์ที่บุคคลทั่วไปซื้อมาเล่นกันเยอะ

ดังนั้นถ้าคุณเป็นผู้เล่นทั่วไปหาเกมส์เล่น เล่นแบบฉาบฉวย เพื่อความสนุก ก็เลือกเอาแนวที่ชอบจาก Chart เกมส์ขายดีน่าจะได้เกมส์ที่ตรงใจคุณ แต่ถ้าคุณเล่นเกมส์มานานจนเล่นเกมส์แนวตลาดทั่วไปแล้วรู้สึกว่ามันง่ายไปก็ลองหยิบพวก Game Of The Year มาเล่นดู คุณก็จะรู้ว่าคำว่าเกมส์แนวลึกเป็นอย่างไร จากประสบการณ์ผม Game of The Year ส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นเกมส์ที่ดีคุ้มเงินแน่นอน ส่วนเกมส์ขายดีก็แล้วว่ามันจะถูกโฉลกกับคุณหรือเปล่า อย่างผมเนี่ย Mortal Combat ถึงจะขายดีอย่างไรผมก็ไม่ซื้อ เพราะผมไม่ค่อยชอบเกมส์แบบเลือดสาดก็แค่นั้น
