AMD เปิดตัว Radeon RX 5500 และ 5500M จีพียู Navi ระดับกลาง เน้นเกมมิ่ง 1080p

AMD ปี 2019 ยังเดินหน้าทยอยปล่อยหมัดอย่างต่อเนื่องทุกเดือน ล่าสุดเปิดตัวจีพียูใหม่ Radeon RX 5500 ซึ่งถือเป็นจีพียูรุ่นที่สองในตระกูล "Navi" หลังออก Radeon RX 5700 มาตั้งแต่เดือนมิถุนายน

ความสามารถของ Radeon RX 5500 ก็ตามชื่อรุ่นคือ ลดหลั่นลงมาจาก Radeon 5700 ในราคาที่ถูกลง (แต่ยังอยู่บนสถาปัตยกรรมตัวใหม่ RDNA และใช้กระบวนการผลิต 7 นาโนเมตรเหมือนกัน) การเปลี่ยนแปลงหลักคือลดจำนวนคอร์ compute unit (CU) ลงเหลือ 22 CU (Radeon RX 5700 มี 36 CU)

อีกประเด็นที่น่าสนใจคือ AMD เปิดตัว Radeon RX 5500 ออกมาพร้อมกันทั้งเวอร์ชันเดสก์ท็อป (แรมสูงสุด 8GB) และเวอร์ชันโน้ตบุ๊ก RX 5500M (แรม 4GB) แต่กลับยังไม่ประกาศราคาขายปลีกของเวอร์ชันเดสก์ท็อปในตอนนี้ (บอกเพียงว่าจะขายในไตรมาส 4) ส่วนเวอร์ชันโน้ตบุ๊กจะมี MSI Alpha 15 เริ่มวางขายเป็นตัวแรกภายในเดือนตุลาคมนี้ ตามด้วย Acer Nitro 50 ในเดือนพฤศจิกายน

AMD ประกาศชัดเจนว่า Radeon RX 5500 มีกลุ่มเป้าหมายคือ "เกมมิ่งระดับ 1080p" และเคลมว่ามีประสิทธิภาพดีกว่าคู่แข่งในระดับเดียวกันคือ GeForce GTX 1650 เฉลี่ยที่ 30%

ส่วน RX 5500M เป็นตัวเลือกที่น่าสนใจมากสำหรับโน๊ตบุ๊ค แต่เห็นค่า TDP แล้วน่ากังวลเรื่องการใช้พลังงาน
