หลังจากมีข่าวสับสนมาสักระยะว่าตกลงแล้ว นโยบายของไมโครซอฟท์เรื่องวินโดวส์เถื่อนกับการใช้ Windows 10 เป็นอย่างไร วันนี้ไมโครซอฟท์ออกมาชี้แจงให้ชัดเจนขึ้น (อีกนิด)

ยืนยันว่าคนที่มีไลเซนส์ Windows 7/8.1 แท้ สามารถอัพเกรด Windows 10 ฟรี
ถ้าใช้ Windows 10 แบบไม่มีไลเซนส์แท้ ไมโครซอฟท์จะแสดงลายน้ำไว้บนเดสก์ท็อป (desktop watermark) ลักษณะเดียวกับ Windows Genuine Advantage
คนที่ใช้วินโดวส์เถื่อน ไม่มีไลเซนส์ ไม่สามารถอัพเกรด Windows 10 ได้ฟรี แต่ไมโครซอฟท์มีแผนจะออกชุดอัพเกรด Windows 10 ในราคาที่น่าดึงดูดมาก (ต้นทางใช้คำว่า very attractive Windows 10 upgrade offers) โดยยังไม่บอกว่าราคาเท่าไร (คาดว่าน่าจะเผยราคาตอนเปิดตัว Windows 10 รุ่นสมบูรณ์เลย)
