OCZ เปิดตัว Thumbdrive แบบ eSATA

แม้ว่า SATA-IO กำลังวางแผนว่าจะเพิ่มความสามารถในการจ่ายไฟให้กับพอร์ต eSATA แล้ว แต่มาตรฐานนี้ก็ยังใช้เวลาอีกพักใหญ่ๆ กว่าจะออกเป็นรูปเป็นร่างได้ งานนี้ทาง OCZ ก็ออก Thumbdrive รุ่นใหม่ที่ใช้พอร์ต eSATA

แน่นอนว่าเนื่องจากพอร์ต eSATA ในตอนนี้ยังจ่ายไฟไม่ได้ Thumbdrive รุ่นใหม่นี้จึงต้องมีพอร์ต mini USB ให้มาด้วยเพื่อใช้รับพลังงาน ดูแล้วเวลาใช้งานจริงอาจจะลำบากพอดู

มีสามขนาดคือ 8, 16, และ 32 กิกะไบต์ ราคาเริ่มต้นตั้งแต่ 56 ดอลลาร์ไปจนถึง 160 ดอลลาร์

มันเร็วกว่า Interface USB 2.0 อย่างมีนัยสำคัญ จนต้องยอมเสียบ 2 สายหรือเปล่าครับนี่ ปกติ Flash Drive ได้ที่ 20 Mb/s ก็ค่อนข้างหรูแล้วครับ ชักสงสัยว่า Handy Drive ตัวนี้มีความสามารถในการอ่าน-เขียน ข้อมูลเท่าไหร่จัง

แต่จะว่าไปแล้ว Notebook ที่มี Port eSATA ตอนนี้เพิ่งจะเริ่มมีกันเองแฮะ กว่าจะเป็นที่แพร่หลายหรือเป็นมาตรฐานผมว่าคงอีกนานครับ คงใช้ eSATA ได้ไม่ค่อยเต็มที่เท่าไหร่ แต่เท่าที่ไปอ่านดูในเว็บ Engadget มา เห็นว่าใช้ได้ทั้ง Interface USB/eSATA เลย ในการ Transfer ข้อมูล ก็น่าจะเป็นทางเลือกนึงของคนที่อยากลอง Technology ใหม่ๆนะครับ
