Larry Ellison ลาออกจากตำแหน่ง CEO ของ Oracle แล้ว

Larry Ellison ผู้ร่วมก่อตั้ง Oracle ได้ลงจากตำแหน่ง CEO ของบริษัทแล้ว

โดยอภิมหาเศรษฐีอายุ 70 ปีผู้นี้เป็น CEO คนแรกและคนเดียวของ Oracle มาตั้งแต่ปี 1977
ขณะนี้ผู้ที่จะมาเป็น CEO แทนคือ Mark Hurd และ Sarfra Catz โดยจะดำรงตำแหน่งเป็น CEO ร่วม

ก่อนหน้านี้ทั้ง Hurd และ Catz เป็น "ประธานบริษัทร่วม" (co-president) ที่ Oracle มาก่อนแล้วหลายปี โดยตำแหน่งนี้เป็นรองเพียง CEO เท่านั้น และ Ellison เองก็ไม่ได้ทำงานเต็มเวลามาพักใหญ่แล้ว การปรับตำแหน่งคราวนี้คือเลื่อนประธานทั้งสองขึ้นมาเป็น CEO ร่วม และดัน Ellison ขึ้นเป็น "ประธานบอร์ด" (Executive Chairman)

แม้ Ellison จะลาออกจากตำแหน่ง CEO แต่ก็ไม่ได้ลาออกจากบริษัท เขาจะยังทำงานในบริษัทต่อไปในตำแหน่ง CTO และ ประธานบอร์ด โดย Jeff Henley ที่เป็นอดีตประธานบอร์ด จะย้ายไปเป็นรองประธานบอร์ดแทน

บอร์ดคนหนึ่งของ Oracle ได้ให้สัมภาษณ์ว่า Ellison จะยังทำงานเต็มเวลาโดยมุ่งเน้นงานด้านวิศวกรรม และ งานพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ เป็นหลัก

ไม่แน่เราอาจจะได้เห็น Ellison ได้ลงมาดูแล Java เร็วๆ นี้ก็เป็นได้

  • อย่างไรก็ตาม Larry ไม่ได้ลาออกจากบริษัท ... ย่อหน้านี้อ่านแล้วน่าลองปรับสำนวน เช่น ถึงแม้ลาออกจาก CEO แต่ Larry ก็ยังมีตำแหน่งอยู่ใน Oracle ...
  • ตำแหน่ง executive chairman น่าจะหมายถึงประธานบริษัท เพราะประธานผู้บริหารคือ CEO

  • ในข่าวเขียนถึง "ประธานบอร์ด" ดูจากต้นทาง The Verge แล้วพูดถึง Dr. Michael Boskin, director of Oracle's board --> เขาเป็นแค่บอร์ดนะครับ (director) ไม่ใช่ประธานบอร์ด (Chairman) ซึ่งเดิมเป็นของ Jeffrey O. Henley (รายชื่อบอร์ด)
  • จาก press release ของ Oracle บอกว่า Ellison จะกลายเป็น executive chairman คือประธานบอร์ดที่ยังควบตำแหน่งงานบริหารด้วย ส่วน Jeffrey ที่เป็นอดีตประธานบอร์ด จะลดเกรดลงมาเป็นรองประธานบอร์ด (Vice Chairman of the Board)
  • อาจต้องเพิ่มนิดนึงว่า Safra Catz กับ Mark Hurd เป็น "ประธานบริษัทร่วม" (co-president) มาก่อนแล้วหลายปี โดยตำแหน่งเป็นรองแค่ CEO (Ellison) เท่านั้น และ Ellison เองก็ไม่ได้ทำงานเต็มเวลามาพักใหญ่ๆ แล้ว การปรับตำแหน่งคราวนี้คือเลื่อนประธานสองคนมาเป็น CEO ร่วม และดัน Ellison ขึ้นเป็นประธานบอร์ด
  • ตำแหน่งของออราเคิลจะงงๆ นิดนึงคือมี president (ที่ดันเป็นรอง CEO) เข้ามาด้วย เป็นวิธีเรียกตามบริษัทแบบอเมริกันบางราย
