กลุ่ม Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) ประกาศออกสเปกของมาตรฐาน DisplayPort เวอร์ชัน 1.3 ที่พัฒนาขึ้นจากเวอร์ชัน 1.2 (ออกปี 2009)
ฟีเจอร์หลักที่เพิ่มมาใน DisplayPort 1.3 คือแบนด์วิธของการส่งข้อมูลเพิ่มเป็น 32.4Gbps หรือเพิ่มขึ้น 50% จากของเดิม (DisplayPort ใช้การส่งข้อมูลเป็น "เลน" หนึ่งสายมี 4 เลน เลนละ 8.1Gbps) สามารถส่งข้อมูลวิดีโอแบบไม่ต้องบีบอัดได้ที่ 25.92Gbps เหลือเฟือสำหรับจอ 5K (5120x2880) ที่กำลังออกสู่ตลาดในเวลานี้ (Dell เปิดตัวจอคอมพิวเตอร์ความละเอียด 5K ตัวแรกของโลก) รวมถึงการใช้เคเบิลสายเดียวต่อจอ 4K สองจอก็ทำได้เช่นกัน โดยใช้แบนด์วิธเพียงแค่ 2 เลนเท่านั้น อีก 2 เลนที่ว่างอยู่สามารถใช้ส่งข้อมูลอื่นๆ เช่น USB ได้ด้วย
นอกจากนี้ DisplayPort ยังรองรับการแปลงวิดีโอไปเป็น VGA, DVI, HDMI เช่นเดิม และเพิ่มการรองรับมาตรฐาน HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2 ด้วย

ผมเข้าใจว่า SlimPort น่าจะเป็นตัวเดียวกับ DisplayPort ใช่มั้ยครับ

Developed by Analogix to provide easy and convenient connection of devices equipped with micoUSB sockets to external displays, SlimPort is based on the VESA DisplayPort standard.
However Analogix has cleverly combined functionality which would have traditionally used several cables into one which they call C-Wire. This enables manufacturers to incorporate SlimPort into existing microUSB connectors. With the result that display output, data and charging can be dealt with by one single connector.
