ของใหม่ได้แก่ ปรับปรุงการทำงานของสถาปัตยกรรม MIPS, ปรับปรุงประสิทธิภาพของไดรเวอร์การ์ดจอ Radeon และ Intel HD, รองรับ Creative Sound Core3D และ Xonar DGX, ปรับปรุงการทำงานของ ARM/ACPI/EXT4/Btrfs เป็นต้น

ถามความรู้กูรู linux นิด การมี driver รวมอยู่ใน kernal ถือเป็นจุดอ่อนหรือเปล่าครับ (เมื่อเที่ยบกับ windows ที่เหมือนแยกตัว driver ออกมาลงต่างหากได้)

ขอแสดงความเห็นนิดนึง คือผมว่าส่วนใหญ่ ทางผู้ผลิตเค้าไม่ค่อยสนใจที่จะทำไดร์เวอร์ให้ linux เหมือนทางฝั่ง windows อะครับทำให้บางที่ไดร์เวอร์ที่ใช้กันมันก็เกิดจากชุมชนช่วยกันเขียนให้กับอุปกรณ์เองเพื่อได้ใช้งานกัน แล้วผมว่ามันก็ไม่ได้ขนาดฝังอยู่ใน kernel ทั้งหมดนะเป็นแค่บางตัวที่ใช้กันเยอะเพื่อความสะดวก ถ้ารอให้คนใช้ไปหาเองมันคงลำบากผู้ใช้เพราะ linux มันลูกเมียน้อยผู้ผลิตเค้าไม่ได้สนใจนัก หาจากชุมชนต่างๆมันเลยยากหน่อยเค้าเลยอำนวยความสะดวกให้

วินโดวส์เองก็มีไดรเวอร์มาด้วยจำนวนมากครับ (ดีไม่ดีจะมากกว่าลินุกซ์) และลงแยกต่างหากได้เหมือนๆ กัน

ต่างกันแค่โมเดลการพัฒนากระบวนการโดยทั่วไปฝั่งวินโดวส์คือการส่งไดร์เวอร์ให้ไมโครซอฟท์ตรวจสอบ ถ้าตรวจคุณภาพผ่านก็จะได้บรรจุลงแผ่นซีดีต่อไป ไม่ได้ส่งโค้ดมาเปิดเผยแบบลินุกซ์ ส่วนผู้ผลิตบางรายอาจจะมีข้อตกลงพัฒนาร่วมกันกับไมโครซอฟท์นั่นก็อีกเรื่อง

เพิ่งรู้ว่า linux รวม driver เข้าใน kernel ด้วย แล้วถ้าเอา kernel ไปใช้กับพวก embeded system ที่ไม่ใ่ช pc จะนำไปใช้ยังไงเหรอครับ

เลือกเอาแค่บางส่วนได้ไม่ใช่เหรอครับ?? ตามสไตล์ linux ที่ custom กันเองตามความต้องการ
( ไม่ยังงั้น embeded ที่ไม่มีจอ ไม่มี usb แต่รองรับ mouse คงจะแปลกๆดีเหมือนกัน)
