ซอฟต์แวร์สำหรับอ่าน feed ชื่อดังบนแมคอย่าง NetNewsWire ประกาศแจกฟรีแล้ว (เดิมขาย 30 เหรียญ)

บริษัท NewsGator ผู้พัฒนา ได้ประกาศว่าซอฟต์แวร์ฝั่งไคลเอนต์ของบริษัทเกือบทุกตัวจะเปลี่ยนมาแจกฟรี นอกจาก NetNewsWire บนแมคก็ยังมี Feed Damon สำหรับวินโดวส์, NewsGator Go สำหรับมือถือ และ NewsGator Inbox ซึ่งเป็นปลั๊กอินสำหรับ Outlook อีกด้วย โดย NewsGator หวังว่าการแจกซอฟต์แวร์ฝั่งไคลเอนต์ฟรี จะสร้างชื่อให้บริษัทและส่งผลให้ขายซอฟต์แวร์ฝั่งเซิร์ฟเวอร์ได้มากขึ้น

สำหรับผู้ที่เพิ่งซื้อซอฟต์แวร์ไปภายใน 30 วันก่อน บริษัทจะคืนเงินให้

ผมคิดว่ากรณีนี้เป็นสัญญาณอันหนึ่งที่บอกว่า ธุรกิจการขายซอฟต์แวร์ปลีกเริ่มใช้ไม่ได้แล้ว บริษัทซอฟต์แวร์เหล่านี้ต้องดิ้นรนพลิกกลยุทธกันเพื่อความอยู่รอด จะว่าไปกลยุทธแบบนี้เหมือน Netscape เด๊ะ ก็หวังว่า NewsGator คงจะอยู่รอดปลอดภัยได้ในระยะยาวนะครับ

เคยคิดจะใช้ NetNewsWire อยู่เหมือนกัน แต่ว่ามันไม่ฟรีนี่สิ ก็เลยหันไปใช้ Vienna จนถึงปัจจุบัน
ตอนนี้คงต้องลองหันกลับไปมอง NetNewsWire ใหม่ซะแล้วล่ะ

หลังจากลองหา Feed Reader ฟรีๆ ที่เหมาะๆมาหลายตัว สุดท้ายผมก็เสียตังให้ NetNewsWire
แต่ก็ดีครับ แจกฟรีแล้ว จะได้มีโปรแกรมฟรีๆ ดีๆใช้กันเพิ่มอีกตัว

ส่วนผมใช้ google reader อ่านครับ :)

ที่จริงเคยลองใช้โปรแกรมมา 4 ตัว
พอเมื่อช่วงปลายปี ได้รู้จัก google reader
แล้วเลิกใช้ตัวอื่นเลย :)

ตัว Feed Demon เป็น โปรแกรมอ่าน Feed บน Windows ที่ดีมาก ๆ ใช้ทรัพยากรน้อยและเร็วดี เคยใช้ตอน trial อยู่ชอบมาก ๆ เลย ;)

โดย NewsGator หวังว่าการแจกซอฟต์แวร์ฝั่งไคลเอนต์ฟรี จะสร้างชื่อให้บริษัทและส่งผลให้ขายซอฟต์แวร์ฝั่งเซิร์ฟเวอร์ได้มากขึ้น

การตลาดแบบ lost leader ชัดเจน (ยอมเสียบางส่วน -> สร้างชื่อ -> ได้รายได้จากส่วนอื่น ๆ ) เหมือน netscape จริง ๆ

ใช้อยู่พักใหญ่มาก จนมันหมดอายุไป :'( ต้องจำใจมาใช้ google reader จนเชียวชาญ แต่วันนี้ถ้าให้กลับไปใช้ก็ยินดีครับ เพราะอ่านข่าวบนรถเมล์บ่อยมาก :)

ยังเสียดายว่ามันไม่สามารถเก็บรูปเอาไว้ได้
