เรารู้กันว่ามือถือรุ่นหน้าของซัมซุงจะใช้จอ Super AMOLED Plus ซึ่งพัฒนาขึ้นจากจอ Super AMOLED เดิม แต่ซัมซุงกลับยังไม่ปล่อยข้อมูลออกมามากนักว่าจอ Super AMOLED Plus มีดีอะไรบ้าง

เว็บไซต์ OLED-Info ได้อธิบายข้อมูลทางเทคนิคของ Super AMOLED Plus หลายประการ

อย่างแรกคือจอ Super AMOLED เดิมจะกระจายซับพิกเซลของเม็ดสีไม่สม่ำเสมอ (เรียกวิธีการวางแบบนี้ว่า pentile) โดยพิกเซลสีเขียวจะมีน้อยกว่าสีแดง-น้ำเงิน และถูกแชร์ระหว่างแถว (ระบบสีแบบ RGBG) ในขณะที่จอรุ่น Plus แก้ปัญหานี้โดยใช้สัดส่วนของสีเท่ากันหมดทุกสี ทำให้จอภาพแบบนี้มีจำนวนซับพิกเซลมากขึ้น ต่อความละเอียดเท่ากัน (ดูภาพประกอบได้ตามลิงก์)

ในความละเอียดเท่ากัน ถ้า Super AMOLED ใช้ 8 ซับพิกเซลต่อหนึ่งพิกเซล จอ Plus จะต้องใช้ 12 พิกเซล มากกว่ากัน 50% วิธีการวางซับพิกเซลแบบใหม่นี้เรียกว่า "Real-Stripe"

ฟังดูดีแต่การวางซับพิกเซลแบบ Real-Stripe ก็มีข้อเสียตรงที่ต้องใช้พื้นที่มากขึ้นต่อการแสดงผลหนึ่งพิกเซล จึงเป็นเหตุผลว่าทำไมมือถือรุ่นใหม่ Galaxy S II จอ 4.3" ถึงมีความละเอียดเท่ากับจอ 4" ใน Galaxy S

นอกจากนี้ ซัมซุงยังให้ข้อมูลว่าการเรียงซับพิกเซลแบบจอ Plus จะเพิ่มความละเอียดได้มากขึ้นในอนาคต และมีแผนจะเพิ่มความละเอียดไปถึง 300ppi โดยใช้กระบวนการผลิตแบบใหม่ที่เรียกว่า laser-induced thermal imaging (LITI) และเป็นไปได้สูงว่าซัมซุงจะตั้งชื่อจอภาพใหม่อีกรอบ (Super AMOLED Plus Plus?)

Samsung เค้าออกจะโม้ครับใครว่าไม่ได้บอกรายละเอียดอะไรเลย ลองดูคลิปข้างล่างก็ครับ และไม่แปลกที่เค้าจะโม้ เพราะยี่ห้ออื่นเค้าไม่มีกัน เป็นจุดขายหลักของ Samsung เลยก็ว่าได้(เพราะ Design เครื่องมันห่วยมาก)
