เกม The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt ออกครั้งแรกในปี 2015 ตอนนี้มีอายุครบรอบ 10 ปี ขายได้มากถึง 60 ล้านชุด และเกมเก่าอายุ 10 ปีแล้วก็ยังไม่สายที่จะอัพเดต

CD Projekt Red ประกาศว่าเกมเวอร์ชัน PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S จะรองรับม็อดแบบข้ามแพลตฟอร์ม โดยจับมือกับ mod.io แพลตฟอร์มแลกเปลี่ยนม็อด ซึ่งจะต้องเชื่อมบัญชี mod.io กับบัญชีของ CD Projekt Red เข้าด้วยกันก่อน

ชาวพีซีอาจคุ้นเคยกับการติดตั้งม็อดที่สร้างโดยชุมชนผ่านเครื่องมืออย่าง Nexus Mod หรือ Steam Workshop กันมานานแล้ว แต่ชาว Witcher บนคอนโซลไม่สามารถเล่นเกมแบบมีม็อดได้มาก่อน ประกาศนี้คือรองรับม็อดบนคอนโซลเป็นครั้งแรก แต่ม็อดผ่าน mod.io ก็สามารถใช้กับเกมเวอร์ชันคอนโซลได้ถ้าต้องการ

ม็อดของ The Witcher 3 จะเปิดให้ใช้งานผ่านอัพเดตแพตช์ของเกม "ภายในปีนี้"
